    hey I know this is an old video, but I came across it today and I just want to say I really enjoyed the final painting (I especially love that bottom flower and the angle you drew the eye at) and hearing you talk during the process! I really want to play around with more interesting colour combinations and I liked hearing you talk about trying colours you don't usually like together (i'd love to do like a colour palette challenge of sorts, but honestly I don't feel like it's something I'd follow through with.) I have the jelly gouache and honestly I really like them! I have the holbein gouache as well, but there's something just so casual and fun about the jelly gouache. I don't feel the same pressure in creation when I use the jelly gouache since they're already in pans. anyways thanks for sharing this video, I thought I'd leave a comment even though its 2 years old haha <3

    • @AshtonKaleigh
      @AshtonKaleigh Год назад

      Thank you for your comment! It means a lot to me. I still haven't tried the jelly gouache but that totally makes sense about feeling less pressure because of them being in pans. Now I want to try them even more! The color palette challenge does sound like a good idea but I too would have a hard time following through. There's always so much to focus on! Well I hope to make some new videos soon. Hopefully we can chat more about art in the future. Thanks again for watching and commenting. 😉

      @@AshtonKaleigh You should definitely give jelly gouache a go, I think its the perfect solution for days you want to paint but don't feel like pulling out paint tubes, a palette.... and going through the whole set up! Lots of fun and easy clean up.

But I converted it to an svg using www.vectorization.org/ which is a free online svg converter. You might not need to do the svg conversion though because Cricut Design Space has updated since then. If your original image is small, I would recommend converting to the svg though because it will be better quality since SVGs are scalable. Hope that was helpful. Happy creating!

    • @AshtonKaleigh
      @AshtonKaleigh 2 года назад

      In this sort of arrangement (Cyan/Magenta/Yellow), my Red is at about 9 o'clock but depending on how your ratio of yellow and magenta is, it could very well be at 10. Lighting and differences in screens may affect what each person sees too. I've seen plenty of wheels that have Red either 9 or 10 depending on how they are mixed and neither is wrong. 👍

      Colors will vary by brand but for a natural pine, I'd recommend using a mix colors like a white, a dull yellow orange ( like Yellow Ochre, Indian Yellow, or Naples Yellow) and a reddish brown (like Burnt Sienna or Red Oxide). You can really mix the colors yourself too if you don't have those exact colors but have some good primary colors to work with. I hope that helps!
