Plying from both ends of a center pull ball.
My grandmother used a distaff and drop spindle, and I have two of her spindles. I need to buy or make a distaff. Thank you for your videos!
Love this video! How do you secure the thread at the top of the spindle?
I do a half hitch
Reel André à Toto. A lé bonne. Comme si c'était le seul à jouer ça. Deuxièmement la partie B est pas dans la même clé. Une erreur semé par Robin Leblanc qui l'avait apprise d'un joueur de reels croches.
Do you have any suggestions for restoring a spinning wheel? I want to do it the right way. It needs to be cleaned, rusted nails replaced or cleaned, and a finish. Just looking for advice!
Le reel du lac st jean , tres bien joué tres bon violoneux
C'est mon grand frère pi ça y va au toast su'l violon!
A beautiful tune
Andre is a master 🎶🎻👣
Judy, you are making this look easy! Glad to have found your video and thanks for sharing it.
Thanks Lara. The only weird bit is remembering to keep your left hand up by the wool and drafting with your left hand. It all makes sense after a while.
I love lego. I love spinning. I have to try this. Thank you for sharing!
Going to have a crack at building one of these. Curious what you used for the spindle?
This is the coolest thing I’ve seen all year! I could sit all day and watch the little Lego figures twirling around while I knit and hum the little tune 😁
Congratulations on this wonderful creation! I wish I could be so talented. Thank you for sharing!!!
Fantastic! I love this tune and learned it after finding this video. I'm going to play it with other instrument(s) for accompaniment but made sure my mother learns it so I can do it with her for the fiddle and piano like this when she comes to visit!
PURE GOLD
WRONG way to catch and halter a llama! Lure it into a corral with food, then into an even smaller catch pen, and approach slowly from behind the left shoulder, put your right arm around its neck, and voila!
This tune is just so, so wonderful, words fail me.
wow tres beau andre!!!tu est tres bon continue !!!super!!! quon tu joue du violon tu fait ma journee!!!!wow
How's getting in and out of it? Can't decide between the trail and villager. The trail is more pleasing to my eye. I haven't tried a villager yet.
Mine doesn't have a cross on the bottom which makes it really hard. Any suggestions? X
Andre is the gold standard for this one and many other Tunes north of the border.
That's so cool
His fiddle bridge looks uncomfortably flat. That's nuts! You gotta be precise on your bow angles to pull that off. Respect!
Flags and flashing rear lights are essential for on road safety. You can make yourself very visible.
Beautiful!
sandwicht
That would be scary on the road. You did look comfortable riding it.
34 dislikes. Yay.
Love it!
tres beau
tres beau merci
This is so beautiful- thank you so much!
Great- I like the use of the feet tapping as percussion accompaniment!
belle reels
A cool old timey tune.
Maid Behind The Bar in the C-part.
Quite similar as The B part in Maid Behind the Bar indeed but not quite the same.
I spindle mainly handdyed braids, which are combed top that's oftener than not been compacted and is in need of predrafting, unlike the gorgeous even undyed you're working with. Id love to see a youtube showing my struggle (it's real!) to use a dealgan without parking it, on some wool that's unevenly combed or predrafted. Just sayin.
Who wrote Le reel du champs de bleuets?
"Spindle spinning with a distaff and a noisy cat" ...fixed it for you :)
(This dance sequence is "Starburst" by Cary Ravitz.)
Thank you for sharing your spinning! I love seeing your videos :)
hahaha this is brilliant! great creativity
This is so cute! I'm preparing and gathering Lego Parts to build myself a charkha. I went "nuts" on eBay. eBay has tons of sellers selling Legal Parts like gears and wheels and unusual Lego Parts I didn't know they make. I just stocked up on some wheels, racks and gears to build me one. I also want to decorate mine with cute Characters and other figurines like plants, flowers and trees along with animals like sheep! I saw a site on building ideas with Legos showing how to build sheep. I'm planning on putting sheep on mine when I get it built (after my parts I order arrives). I always liked Legos but never had any. My Siblings were to big of slobs and didn't respect other peoples things enough to ever have a Lego set. They would have been all over the house and some of the pieces lost. Now that I'm grown up and pay for my own things, I can enjoy Legos. There's another site on youtube of a lady spinning cotton on a charkha and sent her a message on some pointers on what parts she used for the turning mechanisms, but never heard from her. You're creation is so cute and keep up the good work.
What a cutie
Just awesome 🌈
I loved watching this, love the distaff!
Too quick!
Thanks so much for sharing your work, you're doing great :)
I love the cat's tail at the bottom of the video.
Great job Judy. I hope you bring them to the social Monday to show us.
