While comparing all seasons s4 Five must be put in a different standard that is all i want to say. S4 is placed 6 years later in new timeline plus 6 years in the subway equal 12 years aparted from s1-s3 Five. If over 10 years and the character of Five won’t change i think that is a problem. Change can be bad or good, i don’t dig deep. And considered the last scene of s3 everyone walked out from Five to all different directions, that could be a tell how the family drifted away. Fast to the garden, the time here is Five & Lila almost gave up and settle. If, with Five the kiss meant to seal the relationship then after that is the time he created a nuclear family with Lila, so protect family / family comes first equal protect/ Lila comes first. It is not too bad and difficult to grab for me, i dont want to leave such long cmt but to see so much hate for s4, hand down it below average, but still get to know it a little more to see what they planned for the characters were so epic. They just couldn’t deliver it well

After watching four seasons of The Umbrella Academy, my takeaway is that the 7 (later 8) characters were not supposed to exist in the first place. This whole series is happenstance because Sir Reginald Hargreeves just wanted to bring his deceased wife back to life. The season 3 finale was a foreshadowing of what was supposed to happen to the eight protagonists. Also, I don’t think Sir Reginald Hargreeves ever really loved the children. He treated them more like weapons than his children. I think the ending is suitable for the series finale.

This was a lukewarm Terminator entry. The reason it's receiving so much praise is loyalty to the medium of anime.

This show had some bad points but overall I actually liked the gritty nature of it. It did feel like it was maybe a two part season smooshed into a single season.

Season 4 was supposed to have 10 episodes but Netflix cut it down. That’s why we didn’t get to see Lila and five arc. I loved them together.

Okay, I'll do the same thing you did to share my opinion to you First, the Umbrella Academy is not a good team. They don't get along with each other, and then , they can't work together. Their work is to protect the world, and they failed four times. And all end of the worlds were triggered by their actions. The whole series is like the Umbrella Academy cleaning their mess. But if we had to make a good team, who would we take ? Luther is the leader of the team, but doesn't quite act like a leader. When something happens in the team, he is often the last one to know this happened. In season 3, he disappears and no one notices. You might think it's because the member of the Umbrella Academy are messy and don't listen to each other, but it's not only that. Luther does nothing to ensure that everyone gets along. When Reginald dies, he blames his family, telling that the murderer is among them. He puts Vanya into a cage while everyone else told him not to do so. He almost joins the Sparrow Academy for the sake of love, and he often acts like "The problems don't exist, let's pretend everything is fine". Luther might be a good superhero, but he should act alone. Diego is a very good fighter. His power to never miss the target is quite powerful. He can also reflect bullets ! Then what would prevent Diego from being a good member of the Umbrella team ? Well... It's his personality. Diego is VERY hot tempered and act violently too often. It's good to have a flame inside of you, but you must be careful not to let it burn you or your teammates. Diego was literally fighting with five during the firnal boss of the last season. Please, man, do it later. Sorry Dr. Fuego, but the best place I can give to you is in the psychaitric hospital Allison, despite what people say, is a very good character. Everyone hates her because of what she has done, but, if you watch closely, it's always understandable. In season 1, her "mistake" was to manipulate Vanya to make her believe she has no powers. As she said, she was young, she couldn't know what she was doing. In season 2, Allison did nothing wrong. In season 3, everything changed. Because she lost her husband and her daughter. What she has done was very bad. But, let's imagine that you have a wife/husband and a child that you lose. What wouold you be ready to do to see them again ? And in season 4, she gets back her daughter, and the Allison we knew is back. She has literally the power to ask anything to anyone. She can even ask someone to die. And thanks to Harlan, she is even more powerful ! I can't deny that she deserves her place in the perfect team Klaus has one of the best power. With him, death doesn't exist, and anyone who lost their life can continue to fight if Klaus is nearby, why Klaus can't actually die. His biggest flaw is that he avoids everything and prefere to be in an imaginary world (drµgs, cµlt...) but his flow isn't as drawback than Diego's. So we keep him Five is very intelligent, almost flawless, and is a time-traveler with the maturity of a 59 years old man, with the energy of a 17 years old guy. What can we ask ? We keep him Ben has a very powerful power. But, can we force someone to join a team if he doesn't want to ? He is powerful, he loves his family, so he can be a very good teammember... But the fact that he doesn't want to be in a team makes him a weight no matter his personality and power. The best thing we can do for him is to let him live his life. In jail, or in your family, wherever life takes you, just stay there Viktor has the most powerful power of all the characters. His power managed to destroy the world three times. But his head is... a mess. I really love Viktor and I recognize myself in him very much. But through the series, he changed, and becomes more self-confident. I think we can count on him Lila is very powerful too. Like Diego, she knows how to fight very well, she has also one of the most powerful power, to copy someone else's power. Which is either her biggest advantage, but also her biggest flaw. Her power is only useful if someone else is with her, which makes her someone dependant. I remember when she was locked in a closet at the end of season 3, and she had to wait Viktor to be nearby to escape. At least, she got her eye laser thing in season 4. Without that, I couldn't take her in the team Marcus is... okay. She is a Luther 2.0. And we can't see him enough to know him. Sorry Marcus, but you're an unknown to me. Goodbye Fei is way more interesting. She is a great fighter despite she can't see through her eyes, and she can summon ravens to see through their eyes. It's a very interesting power. Plus, she has this sadistic side that guarantees that her enemies will have a very bad moment. I have to admit, she really deserves to be in the team Alphonso... I really like him. He's funny, he's like a calm Diego. His power is to reflect pain. If you hurt him, you get hurt. But... Well... I don' tunderstand how it works. Does he suffer ? And why, sometimes doesn't it work ? I don't understand your power. I love your name, but that's all Sloane, as you said, HAVE to be in the team. She can controle gravity, she is the most human of all the characters, and people need someone like her to be inspired. She doesn't have many flaws, except that she might be outside of the team sometimes (but when you see the Sparrows, we can't blame her). You're in Jayme... I have a problem with her. She can throw a venom that create hallucinations... But something with her is wrong. She's more like an antiheroine than an heroine. She doesn't seem to be the member you can trust in And Christopher... Like Alphonso, I didn't get how his power works So, my best team is 1/ Five (Jerome) 2/ Viktor 3/ Fei 4/ Klaus 5/ Sloane 6/ Allison 7/ Lila

early 2019 is certainly a year I would not like to repeat but I would honestly do it all over again just to see this for the first time

This is a fun concept for a video but I recommend writing a script down next time, you pause alot to think of what you're going to say next

Actually in season 2 Allison showed she could use her power on three people at the same time. And her power is reality manipulation, she just used mind manipulation because it is easier. Season 3 removed the need for the phrase and made it stronger and faster, and season 4 she just has to think/look at the person/object (her range was also further expanded as well). So actually season 4 Allison doesn't need any form of defense. And even then, depending on what superpowered human she's fighting, Allison is an expert combatant. She was extensively trained. (Luther mainly uses his strength, Klaus is the weakest in combat and Viktor was never trained). If we had to put the hand to hand combatants of the Academy in order it'd be 1) Five, 2) Lila, 3) Diego and 4) Allison. So even if we're talking about pre 3x7 Allison, it isn't likely she's completely helpless since she was trained in hand to hand (and even though she failed to fully rumor them, she was able to try and fight Christophers power when he was zapping them and she did fight through the rumor when Lila mimicked her power, so it can be said she has the potential to develop indomitable will.) Lila likely gained laser eyes because she manifested it via her mimicry. True mimicry would allow the user to mimic and keep any power they wanted (as well as stack, so they can mimic and keep multiple powers and use them in combination). It's possible that getting marigold again allowed Lila to do a one-time power manifestation (maybe she was watching a superhero with laser eyes, thought it was cool and she subconsciously mimicked the power). To be fair though Allison was suffering from PTSD, she kept losing her daughter, so I get why she'd become so dark in season 3 (some say she became dark because she tried to rumor herself, which had a backfire, of course there's no excuse for her sexual assualt on Luther), she was tired. While she didn't want to be on the team, I do think her heart is in the right place and she does care about people. Me personally, I include her on my team. Though she'd be maybe top 3. (Technically you can have eight because Lila was accepted as Number Eight in the Academy in season 3).

The whole story in recap: The whole thing is Sir Reginald Hargreeves’s fault. The Umbrella Academy is a start of nothingness.

Christopher is powerful, but ultimately a boring concept. Storylines w him would feel forced and too off beat. I like all the other picks, but I’d probably replace him w the Diego. I think in this new team dynamic he would be more like his younger self and his near humanity (aside from weapon skills) could make for good John Wick style combat scenes

I think you had amazing points about why they should or shouldn't be in the team! i agree with pretty much your entire ranking system! I do have a bit of feedback for the actual video tho? maybe (if you aren't already) you should write a script so you can more fluidly and confidently get all your thoughts out in an easily understandable and engaging way with less pauses and silences. I thought that you did a great job at making this seem like a real conversation but that can still be achieved with a more structured base 😊

Personally, I agree with everything except for Christopher. I would replace him with Viktor, because in my ideal team, Viktor would've been included since he was a child and so he learns to control his powers and does not make emotions get the best of him. That's just me.

Did people really like season 2? Honestly the decline started after this first season

I think people are viewing it strictly from a power based point of view and not how they actually mesh with a team. Power wise they are completely op. But since Viktor tends to only use his powers when really pushed into it by anger it means making him angry could trigger it even when there's no need for his powers in the moment. But yeah had he received the proper training he would be a literal god. And Allison's personality is way too volatile. She proved multiple times that even her family couldn't have their own thoughts and desires because she'd rumor them into doing what she wanted anyways. That's horrifying. I would take mean Ben over her any day.
