Hi Michaela, I just read your Instagram post. If you have trouble with internal antibiotics maybe externally applied antibiotics are an option? I have several times had problems where bone wounds around endoprothesis didn't close/heal and stayed infected. Since I have bad reactions to the type of antibiotics necessary they applied the antibiotic locally. (I had to see the doctor daily for two weeks.) It eventually helped. Took some time though and the local application wasn't pleasant. I really hope your head manages the situation without additional surgery! Thinking of you and wishing you the very best! Susanne

Hi Michaela! Thank you very much for your recent Instagram updates! We have hospital, too, on Wednesday. Since it's in Europe there's ample time afterwards to really wish you the best of success! What do you do when you can't follow your usual interests? Do you read, watch series or movies, listen to music, chat, write? I remember that I used procedure times to sleep a lot and to catch up with family, lots of quality time and talking. Also consciously doing nothing and letting my mind drift or looking out of a window for hours at trees and birds and squirrels can actually be nice! All the best wishes for the x-rays and the check-up and the talks and the surgery dates! Susanne

Hi Michaela, Thank you very much for the newest update. - I am sending all my thoughts and wishes for you that traction is a huge success! - I also hope very much that you get PT before the surgery! Pre OP PT is one of the most helpful things that exist! - If your final date for OP turns out to be around X-mas/ New Year make sure there's nevertheless enough team there and enough physio for mobilisation during the holidays! We try to avoid a succession of holidays whenever possible. - The nice thing is relationships and care between the holidays can be a very nice and personal experience! - This sounds horrible but it's actually a very good thing: Doctors and surgeons (usually) love complicated rare cases. That's what they studied for. That keeps their work interesting. It's like an extra treat for them, a special challenge. So you're doing them a favour, too! You are like a "professional gift". - the last bit also makes them extra awake and attentive which always helps. Kindest regards and best wishes! Susanne

Great! informative & well presented in an articulate manner with both honesty & a touch of humour, making it not only interesting but bringing a condition to life that student drs would otherwise have learnt only the basics about from text books or the internet during their training. Such an honest presentation about how this condition impacts on you & your life will undoubtably aid in improving future research, treatments & medical services in this field so I hope this was the first of many awareness & information sessions you will be presenting. I would also like to say i am so glad i 'stumbled' across your channel a few weeks ago (been hooked ever since😉) You are intelligent, confident & cute!😙 & always so upbeat!😆 great to watch. You are a true role model & an inspiration as a strong, independent young lady who faces some difficult daily barriers in life head on! However you young lady do NOT have a 'diSability'! Your condition may mean you have to do some things in life a little differently, need some assistance or even not be able to do certain things, but as you so rightly pointed out we are all different & we 'ALL' have some sort of a condition to one degree or another. A differbility does not bring only weaknesses to endure but also gifts us with many strengths (an example being the, bravery & confidence levels you exhibit over RUclips for your young age.)
