Just a couple of corrections. The box outside is the CSP (customer service point, not ONT) the ONT (Optical network termination) is the white box in the video with the 3 green lights (not modem) modem is something very different and is used on the copper network not fibre.

Do you know if its possible to have two connections to the CSP? I currently have an ethernet cable running along the front of my house to connect the router to another room , i prefer using a wired connection whereever i can and dont like powerline connectors.. So i presume for that to work it would require two ONTs? So is that classed as an additional line? Please forgive my ignorance . Hopefully someone can clear this up for me

ya that worked pete, I have used clip champ before when I noticed it after I had done one of my periodic windows auto updates and then I thought; sure i'll give it a try, have used it for editing videos though I had not tried the screen recording feature until now and it worked! thanks alot for the reminder! clip champ's screen recording features recorded the audio and the video succesfully, the audio quality was still not the best / as I heard it out of my pc's regular default speakers though it was better than the audio that my vlc media player recorded and I can live with that or if all else fails just have the audio of the clips I wanted recorded separately and added together on an editor such as clip champ or any other video editor. I dont know what to make of the infinity glitch error I encountered when I attempted to use both vlc media player and clip champ's screen recorders. Please explain that to me ~ Roarr!

Hi, Pete. The white box on the wall before your modem for BT fibre is most likely an Openreach modem (ONT). This box acts as a terminal for the fibre optic cable coming into your house. It converts the light signals from the fibre into electrical signals that your BT modem (usually called a Smart Hub) can understand. This allows you to access BT's FTTP (Fibre To The Premises) network for broadband and phone services. There are a few different models of Openreach modem, but they all generally look like small white boxes mounted on the wall.

Do all ASUS routers run the same internal software? I can only adjust icons from the Client status list from the "Network Map" page after having clicked on the Clients button. I add an icon, but cannot get it to 'stick'. I can, however, change it to one of the default icons that came pre-installed with the router. Do the icons have to be a certain size or type?
