Hi- if we are looking at Christian history like the temple being destroyed, we can't look past centuries of Christian liturgical worship, too- unless we are dismissing all the work, worship, and practices of many saints (or Saints) before us

@@st.maryspnccinparmaoh4656 Well, we can look past it if it is only man-made tradition not required by God, as He no longer dwells in temples made by the hands of men, and half of the traditions you cite were done away with with after Yeshua prophesied that the Temple would be destroyed, not to go and make some more! The church is the congregation or people, not the building. The word for a meeting house is sinagoga in Greek & beit knesset in Jewish vernacular, but non-Jews use the Anglicised rendering of it into "synagogue" as pertaining only to Jews, when it is just a generic term applying the meeting place of any group or people, but not "church." Incense, altars, priestly vestments and headwear were all done away with, yet we see them in Christian services, which definitely was not a part of the disciples & the first early Jews' church. The saints of God are all one without any special titles and we don't need any marble edifices. 🙃

A few times in the Old Testament vestments are spoken of. Great question! Like you said, of course opinion varies on this. I'm of the belief that we have Ritual for a reason- it has been prayed over, it has been studied, it has been argued over. Ritual is important! But, not as important as a Sacrament- and if we believe that the Sacrament of Holy Orders grants the ability to bless, then it's very difficult to argue against a blessing... Even if that blessing has now become a sacramental and not a Sacrament!
