The hard part is not automatically downstroking that first string; up-picking instead.

If I'm not mistaken, you could probably play this on a regular banjo given the placement of the capo. Once he moves it though, I guess you need to get a long neck.

great job Frank! i just stumbled on your videos. i am learning clawhammer style. on your right hand are you alternating the first and second strings? second and third? I assume i can use down strokes and no picks since i do not do scruggs style. looking forward to watching more of your videos!!

Seeger can't be credited as the person who changed the banjo world by being the person who sang with banjo. Many many many people sang with the banjo WAY before Pete did.

At 72 years young I just started weeks ago learning banjo using the Scruggs style. A month later I find ClawHammer style and now I see the Seeger style. I can't wait to give this a try. I have an adms banjo but yours has a much better sound
