We are Dave and VJ Richey. In June 2022 we sold our home of 23 years and moved into our motorhome we named Roman. We are now full-time and loving every minute of it. Spring 2023 we will retire from our 8 to 5 jobs and plan to put as many miles on Roman as we can, before our kids take our driver’s license away.

Heading home to Ohio for the summer and arrived in time to see the Eclipse
We left for Ohio April 1st stopping to visit family in the Charleston area. We stopped for the night in Newport, Tennessee. Then we drove through rain, snow then rain again. My sister taped us driving by on I-75 in the Cincinnati area and we made it to Lazy R on the afternoon of the 4th. We had a few day to get settled before the Eclipse. We were in totality area.

This hurts my brain in so many ways. Do they not realize if they just slid the rim closer to the pole they were trying to pull out it will give it more leverage to come straight out instead of coming out being yanked sideways. Also whoever said that that truck can’t pull out a tiny dish pole is off their rocker, that truck could pull out 20 of them at once just matters who’s behind the steering wheel.

Wasn't clear what your first issue was. Was it power? I have a couple of brand new 150w 12v solar panels you can have, if you can brave the liberals and come out to CA. 😁
It got below freezing, and our fuel jelled. We totally forgot to treat it. We are in Ohio. We drained the battery trying to start it, so we had to charge the batteries. By the time they were charged, the sun warmed up the fuel, and we were on our way . Beginners mistake.

People are so Dumb. These are ALL, "SPACE X, ROCKET LAUNCHES". You'd think that people would know this by know, since Elon Musk Launches Various Rocket Damn Near Every Day, & This is just the Trail Left by the Rockets Smoke, Burnt Fuel, etc.

Did the motor home sideswipe the Simi, or did the driver of the motor home sideswipe the Simi?
The car just stopped. The motorhome and truck driver saw it. The truck got over as much as he could safely. The motorhome ran into the truck.
RV's are built like aluminum cans. Crumple very easly. I witnessed one disintegrate on I-5 when it flipped. The driver was reckless, driving like he was in a sports car. Found out real quick its not. Same goes for trailers and fifth wheels, even if the truck pulling it is a super duper heavy duty bulletproof Ram F-350 Silverado SS. I see those flying down the passing lane all the time. Death wobble is a bitch.

I did a detailed video too. A vehicle intentionally stopped at a green light and the motorhome sideswiped a semi hauling large equipment. The vehicle took off.

@brucetifer truck driver saw it and got over as far as he could. The heavy equipment on the truck lost a mirror I believe.

Cool trip! I watched it with a four year old. He loves that you said “fart”! And he liked the bear. I liked the waterfalls especially the one in Yosemite. Just goes to show there is something in the video to appeal to everyone!

Don't blame the weather. The fault is with the stick and staple build.
We think it is just dry rot as it is a 2008 rig. Roman is built solid being built in 2008 before the world fell apart.
@@RomanwiththeRicheys "Built solid" is a relative term. Compared to any Prevost build or a Newell, absolutely none of the stick and staple production coaches come even remotely close to the same standards. Prevost is a stainless steel frame top to bottom. Newell builds their own out of steel. Your coach certainly isn't built to those standards.
Why were you going 70mph? Sounds like you have a relatively new RV? Wow, lots of problems. Hope you eventually got them all worked out.

Yes, they are good. It's like ground beef on a bun with spices.
I do AutoGlass.. What had happened is the body twisted.. This is the only way to pop the glass like this... This is a big problem with RV's.. See it all the time.. If you get the RV off camber it will pop it out every time.. The Glass guy should have told you this.. We do about 10 of these a year.. Most times you can not fix this without Twisting the body back which RV repair shop know this but will not say anything...
Same thing happened to us. Front windshield sepperated from to of coach in Reno on the way to Oregon coast. 2 weeks and $3800 later, we just came back home to Vegas.
