I think "Wicked: For Good" could do very well next year, as it looks to be more serious in tone (based on Act II of the musical), which might help it get past the bias of comedy/lighter films often not getting wins over dramas at the Oscars. As a bonus, there is supposed to be a couple original songs, so it could score a nomination or two there as well. Can't imagine the film going off the rails with the same director, cast and crew all focused on the task at hand. Definitely looking forward to catching the movie in November.

I find it interesting how the people shocked that "I'm still here" made it in for Best movie are the ones who haven't watched it, because EVERYBODY who did watch was like "yep, deserved,". I mean, Variety magazine called it and it does have the HIGHEST score on Rotten Tomatoes out of all the nominees (95%), so obviously the critics know how good it is (and the audience score was 99% last I checked)

Why do some feel Mank was snubbed in some categories. It has 10 nominations. Almost twice as many as other films. I love Fincher but I have to say this is one of my least favorite films he’s made.

Loved your video. It’s nice to see youngsters so enthusiastic about films. Supporting Actor is always the hardest to get in. Three Billboards not getting director is no surprise. Three acting noms and script pretty much carried the movie. And Argo won picture with no directing nomination. It could still win but my money is on Shape winning best pic.
