BIMitUP

Добавлен 19 сен 2020
I'm Alex Sol, and I created BIMitUP because I realized that what would take me months to learn in a “vanilla-training environment”, I could master in weeks by learning from the right colleagues "on the battlefield". I strongly believe in “Learning While Doing”, and if you do too, this channel is for you!
On this channel you will get helpful tips on BIM/CAD platforms like Revit MEP, Navisworks and AutoCAD MEP, applied to HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical and Fire Protection. BIMitUP is growing into a strong community of professionals who explore and share concepts, fundamentals, new technologies and best practices on MEP industry topics.

I just saw a Mcafee notification and went to settings and saw this one too with one more app. This was the hardest to delete. Mcafee and that other app uninstalled right away but this took 3 tries until it was off my pc.
Yes, this a "stubborn" one =)
Excelent,thanks Alex,always so useful info
My pleasure!
Awesome 👏🏻
Glad it was helpful!
You are the best one Thank you so much ❤❤❤❤
You're welcome 😊
Hi, I'm having an issue with the height parameter in my drawing. On the front tab, when I modify the family type's height, the change is reflected. However, when I make the same adjustment in the 3D view, the element doesn't elongate as expected. The height parameter on the front tab remains updated. Could this be a software bug? Thank you
It was a simple mistake. I forgot to apply the AL command to the top plane and top face. Thanks for your assistance
Make sure you lock your faces to your reference planes =)
Glad you figured it out. Congratulations. That's a useful family =)
@@bimitup Yes, that's right. Thank you very much. I hope you'll make another video about drawing a ball valve to control the gas supply to patient rooms.
@@thanhtaiho1759 Maybe soon. Stay tuned.
Great Thanks
Glad it was helpful
Great Thanks Alex
My pleasure!
excelente video, muchas gracias
Me alegra que te haya sido útil. Exito!
Thanks. Working with Imperial measurements is a bit of a challenge, but great tutorial anyway.
Haha. I hear you. I grew up with the SI (metric system). I hope we all get there one day lol. I'm glad t was helpful. Like and share =)
Where can we download the grooved fittings?
The whole Pipe Type, you can get here: www.bimitup.com/product-page/03-bimitup-pipe-types-fire-protection-grooved-and-threaded-steel The grooved fittings, from the Victaulic website: www.victaulic.com/resource-software/
WTH......you are most underrated man.....please make full series on parameters and project browser settings.....they are little confusing and needed.
It's on the list. Stay tunned. Like and share =)
The actual thing we needed at last
I'm very glad it helped you.
Where do those families come from in the directory? Are those from Autodesk?
Yes. Most are out of the box PVC Drainage (DWV) fittings. Good luck! =)
Thanks!
Welcome!
Hello, I'm new to AutoCAD MEP, I only have Architecture as default workspace. is there any site where I could import other workspace like HVAC, Pipping & other... really appreciate your help.
This is because of either: - The software that you purchased. AutoCAD Architecture? - The way you installed the software - The Profile that you are using Check all 3 in that order. Good Luck!
In a pressurised closed loop system, is Revit capable of selecting a pump if it has various pump curves programmed in?
Hi Ben. Just to be clear, this is for a sanitary drainage (gravity/no pressure) system. However, if you have "calculations > performance" activated, you can calculate pressure drops for both open and closed systems, and you can use that information to select your pump (not easy, but it can be done). Good luck!
Excelente 👌
Thank you! Gracias!
Hi Alex, That was good, it would be cool if you could go over UPC some time. Massachusetts and other states are based on it.
Hi Joe. Maybe one of these days my friend... =)
Ty
You are welcome
At 3:09 you opened a folder called US Imperial with all these family templates in it. I don't have that folder or any of those files. You left out the explanation of where you got that from
Last versions don't install the content by default. You can either go to: www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/tsarticles/ts/2BQRb68xV4vUxhiNWfnv7k.html and download, or access via: Insert > Load Autodesk Family (from the cloud. All families are there)
Thanks for your videos, much appreciated!
Glad you like them! Share with others =)
I checked the calc add-on that they now require a Viking seller contact; I guess you to request and it is not free anymore!
Get with your Viking rep to see if he can hook you up.
How did you get just a list of folders and subfolders. I know you can search in Windows Explorer "type:folder" but it takes too long. I used Everything to get that list. For sure Excel is a convenient way to edit the list.
I think I explain it in the last part of the video. Good luck!
This was a lifesaver thank you
Hehe. You are welcome :)
i have tried to delete it, but i think its impossible, because when i uninstal it, it appears to do no effect
Yeah. This thing has morphed over the last few months =(
great tutorial....Thanks
Glad it was helpful! You are welcome. Share with others =)
MEP Dynamo videos is there
Good.
Yes very helpful indeed thanks Alex
My pleasure!
Great way to create and manage the space, good
Glad you like it!
I tried, and I tried! I can't get it to work! Revit still insists that the two connectors must be linked, flow configuration set to calculated, and system classification to Global.
I would set the flow configuration as preset (after all, that's what you're doing...setting a fixed value) and the system classification as "Sanitary" so that you can input drain fixture units.. Good luck!
The question I have if you go under duct work does the upright head follow the pipe or does it follow the upright head above?
Hi John. If I understand your question correctly... you have to provide sprinklers under any obstruction over 4' in width (like some ducts). I typically provide the sprinklers midways duct width. Also keep in mind that you might need to sprinkler under ducts that fall under "obstruction" per NFPA 13 requirements, even if they are less than 4' in width
Dear Sir, Can you please share the link of this file so that we can practice it according to your teaching steps? Thank you and Regards
You should have it already under your C drive, Autodesk Sample Project. But if you cannot find it, maybe try this link: help.autodesk.com/view/RVT/2022/ENU/?guid=GUID-61EF2F22-3A1F-4317-B925-1E85F138BE88
