Bob on the Farm

Real life adventures on a small farm in Northeast Ohio.
4th of July and how we got there
People always ask me the same question when I plant corn: Is it gonna make knee high by the 4th of July? We'll answer that and kinda sorta show you all how we got there! Thanks for watching!

It took me awhile, but here is part 2 of building the run-in shelter! Here is where I finish up the framing and put the siding and roof on it.
Building a run in shelter

The grass is growing and it is time to put the calves outside for the summer. Only problem is that Kris says that they need a shelter to protect them out there. I just happen to have a bunch of lumber that I'm not using anywhere else, SOOOO..... Here I go building a shelter for the calves!
A sprocket for the spreader
Просмотров 1032 месяца назад
I know. I KNOW! This manure spreader is taking a long time to get done. Hey, at least I'm making some progress on it! Doing the best I can with what I got. Boy, do I need to get caught up on these videos. Thanks for watching!
Coulters from one plow to another

Pulling the coulters off the John Deere chisel for installation on the Massey Ferguson roll over plow at a later date.
Back to the manure spreader

It has been a little while since I started on the New Holland manure spreader by installing a new conveyer web and fixing up the PTO shaft. When one of the drive sprockets for the web broke, I put it aside for awhile. Well, spring is coming and I'm gonna need that thing so I better get to finishing it up!
New coulters for the plow

OK. I may or may not have picked up a 3 bottom Massy Ferguson roll over plow a few weeks ago at a consignment auction. Let's just say I did but it did not have coulters and since I plan to use it to plow sod so I don't leave dead furrows...I need coulters!
Picking up a new to us tool for the farm
Просмотров 4905 месяцев назад
I was going to try to keep it a secret a little longer, but Kris let the cat out of the bag. I bought a "new" combine and this is us going to pick it up and drive it home from Tiffin. It's 54 miles to Spencer. Ten miles per hour. That is all.

Another installment of corn harvest for 2023. No breakdowns...which is nice!
Corn harvest 2023 part 2

Harvest 2023 is going slow due to rain and mud conditions. Patience is truly a virtue and I just have to wait it out. Luckily, I got a little bit of a window and was able to get some of the corn crop in.

It's time to start harvesting corn! We are doing corn first this year because the beans are very late despite having planted them pretty early.
The babies come inside!

Mixing up some feed for the Babies. Then cleaning the rotten corn out of the gravity wagon.
Getting ready for 3rd cutting hay
Просмотров 32210 месяцев назад
Before we can make 3rd cutting hay, I need empty wagons! Also, I have to return a borrowed hay elevator which is kinda self-destructing. So....really, I have to fix the hay elevator and then return it. Did you ever have an easy fix turn into an all day project?
Hiding the bales of alfalfa sticks

Just a little video of moving the round bales of ruined hay. Putting them in a better place where I don"t have to look at them while they rot away. As always, Thanks for watching! Hit me with a like! Comment if you feel so compelled! And subscribe!

How much hp does your tractor have ? Or what the smallest tractor you think that mower would need ?
@@DennisZook everything I have seen says that the 5209 needs about 65 pto hp. My 2840 is rated about 81 pto hp. A little extra power is never a bad thing. Just ask Tim the Tool Man! LOL! Thanks for watching!
Hey Bob,,good to see ya. Was beginning to wonder,,lol. Crops are looking good.
Thanks Ron! Always good to see you here!
how about we dooooo THIS...🤣great video:)
Hey Bob,,good to see ya. Project coming along nicely. How's the field work coming along?
@ronzezulka6646 Hey Ron,
The shelter turned out nice. Field work is pretty much done and all crops are growing. I have quite a bit of footage of most of it. I think I will do a compilation of everything. I'm glad to see ya out there!
If used this machine and tried cutting hay at 20 miles per hour..... does just as good of a job as slower ! Except.....the problem is slowing to make the turns ! Heres me cutting hay at 20 miles per hour at 0:46 ruclips.net/video/5O6dI-TEB3c/видео.html
Question...why cut empty on the ends ? Not a waste of time ? Unless chopping.... I always go around the field...not back and forth.
You do know that the steal bar that you have your hydraulic hoses tied to is meant for cradling the PTO ? So the end dont get plugged full of dirt. Its heavy ! Yours isnt on correctly
Been able to get in the fields at all? Dodging rain in Wisconsin.
Hey Bob,,,it's pk it takes a few days to make a complete video. Takes me a couple days to watch sometimes. I enjoy your calm, relaxed, no drama approach to a jb. You'll get it all done.
Cant beat Dewalt tools.
Yeah Man!
And Chevy trucks Bob! LOL
Hey Bob,,good to see ya. I see yer staying busy,,lol.
Thanks Ron. I have so many little things to do that I don't know what to do first.
where did you buy the adapter that went from 1" square to the 1 3/8 6 spline?
That is just a small spline to standard spline pto adapter. Frpm there I just ground the shaft down until it fit. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for posting up the videos of the bridge crossing. I'll be going up there and participating for the first time this year (2024). I'll be driving my Ford Jubilee across and it was cool to see you guys taking a couple of Fords across the bridge on this trip.
Hey Bob,,checking in. Getting some tillage done?
Where did you ger your pockets, custom? Nice work
I had them fabbed at a local welding shop. They were amazing! I told them what I wanted and an hour later they were done! Thanks for watching!
Nothing worse than welding live parts,,lol
Hey Bob,,good to see ya. Stay after it,,always a new adventure.

Woo Hoo! You da man!!!
great vide just subbed. almost 1k
Hey! I'm glad you liked the video! Thanks for the sub and thanks for watching!
Hey Bob,,,checking in. Hows the plow project coming along?
Hi Ron, Kinda in to another project right now so the plow is on the back burner at the moment. I should have a couple or three new things to show pretty soon.
@@BobontheFarmOhio I'll be waiting. Stay safe.
Show me how the Spark plugs are wires
Sorry, Darrick. I don't have that tractor anymore. Thanks for watching, though!
Yup,,,bust out the flame wrench.
Hey Bob,,good to see ya!! Gope all is well and drying down. Werre getting close to fresh dirt here in west central Wisconsin. Looking forward to the roll over plow footage.
Papa's you are much help because of you I wouldn't know what to do
I hope it helped. Thanks for watching!
Bob was that a cow I Heard in the background?? I didn't know you had cows
Yes sir! We raise a couple of beefers for our own freezer and sell to friends too. Thanks for watching!
سلام من ایرانی هستم تراکتور ۴۰۲۰ داشتیم ویک ۴۲۳۰هردو تایرهای ان را میبوسم ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks for watching!
First thing im thinking is the sprocket isn't going to move.
Hey Bob,,good to see ya. Nope,,,no plow sightings.
I had footage of it, but I can't seem to locate it on my computer. Darned computers anyway. Next video will feature the new plow! Thanks for sayin' hey, by the way.
@BobontheFarmOhio Anytime,,looking forward to the elusive plow sighting,,,lol
You just need to use a bigger hammer! 😂
I couldn't find it!
I love your place/farm! :)
Thank you!
Is that a open station 2640? You got .
You are very close! It is a 2840. Thanks for watching!
Hey Bob,,checking in. How's things going? Preparing for spring tillage? Were seriously up and down here in Wisconsin.
Hey there Ron, our ground is way too wet to even consider tillage yet. I'm sure that things will happen when they need to though.
13:26 I haven’t seen someone do that and this is a creative idea I love it Minnesota. Elgin
I was in a silly mood that day! Thanks for watching!
sounds great!Really liked this series!:)
I think it was the first cornhead you repaired....but I bet it wasnt the first tractor...right?:)
delusions of grandure....🤣🤣
piece aaaaaa.... tractor!😆One reason why I like your channel so much🙂
Love your little shop!🙂 Was it there when you moved in?
I gotta admit...you got a bunch of fancy tools! But you still did a great job!:)
great videos, I really enjoy them!:)
I love how you improvise without any fancy tools and just get the job done. great job!🙂 (like you did with your cornhead)
Finally starting with your Allis Chalmers series.:)
Lol😂😂😂 no heated sets 🤣 mom is so awesome
Yep! She's a keeper! Thanks for watching!
Wow this is a beautiful

many years past did the same kinda thing on the other side of oh with a 55 was glad to get home ha ha ha
I hear you! I was definitely ready to be done. Thanks for watching!
The 10mph does give ya the chance to enjoy the surroundings.
It seems that way at first, but 4 hours in it all looks the same.
@@BobontheFarmOhio True,,,especially this time of year.
Hey Bob,,,very nice!!! Acquisition of new toys is always a good thing. Looks like a super nice machine. Are you thinking of changing changing over to narrow row?
Probably not yet. I would need to find a narrow planter that I like first.
@@BobontheFarmOhio Plus, you did a very comprehensive rebuild on the wide head. The other 4400 not performing up to par?
@@ronzezulka6646 The 4400 is a very early model (no rotary screen) while the 4420 is probably about 10 years newer and has about 1000 hours less on it. The old 4400 needs a few wear parts to be able to move faster in the field and I was going to do those things but I found this 4420 in basically ready to go shape and it looked like a good opportunity to upgrade.
@BobontheFarmOhio The 4420 is a really nice looking machine.
Bringing experienced green paint home is always exciting, thanks for the ride....☕🇺🇸💜
Thanks for coming along! I'm pretty stoked about it!
She’s a beauty! I’ve wanted one with that hydraulic unload auger forever. You’re nice to pull over for cars. I make them pull over for me with the 4400😊.
It was a pretty skinny road and something had to give. Otherwise, I might still be sitting there! Thanks for watching!
