Always nice to see you upload!! Have you considered adding illustrations to your narration? It could even help with showing how out of place poor Kyōko is, by having her drawn resembling traditional Japanese woodcuts, juxtaposed against the more Norse style of everything else.
What a lovely idea! I have mixed feelings about adding illustrations. The downside is forcing images down the readers' throats, depriving them of their own mental portraits of the world and characters. It shrinks one's imagination. And then I sometimes wonder what Roald Dahl books would be like without Quentin Blake. The result would also depend on the illustrator and publisher, but I will try a few Ukiyo-e myself.
