Episode 8: Agfa Ansco PD16 Clipper
This is a first gen PD16 clipper, and I do like it. Its very compact and portable, and would've made a good travel camera. It does use 616 film.

I don't know a lot about it, since the name plate is gone, but I do really like it none the less. I think it's a pony premo or a cycle poco. it's from the early 1890s, making it my oldest camera to date. Instagram: @antique_archeology

Well sorry again for the day late upload, I realized it canceled at some point and this is the second time uploading. I am going to have pre recorded videos for the next few weeks since I'll be out of state for a while, when I come back I'll record more and then I'll be gone the rest of the summer, and upload a pre recorded video each week. It'll be like I never left. :) Instagram: @antique_arc...

Episode 3: Folding Pocket Kodak No. 1b
Просмотров 3636 лет назад
Sorry for the late upload, anyways I recorded this really late on tuesday and I said "archeology" instead of photography in the intro, guess I'm still more used to saying that. This is a 1899-1915 Kodak No 1b, I found this for as cheap as the mold on it was at the flea market, I am glad I saved it, it cleaned up rather nicely. Instagram: @antique_archeology
Episode 2: No. 3a model C pocket kodak
Просмотров 7 тыс.6 лет назад
This camera is in extremely nice condition for its age, being manufactured from 1912-1915. It's in almost mint condition, and the leather bellows are soft and light tight, and the outer leather is only slightly worn. The only unfortunate part on this camera is its shutter. The settings on the left "T" "B" and 1/100th of a second all work perfectly fine, but everything on the right screws it up....
Episode 1: No. 4 cartridge kodak
Просмотров 2,4 тыс.6 лет назад
I do enjoy this camera very much. It's my oldest and most pleasing to look at camera. It was manufactured from 1897 to 1907. There's just something about the wood, brown leather, red leather, and brass metal work that is so nice to look at. It has a Bausch and Lomb rectilinear lens with B, I, and T settings, and 3 unmarked speeds. It has a aperture that goes from f4 to f128, and is made of bras...

Great explanation! I just aquired on of these. Now you told me how to unlock the camera so it pops out the front. Now what is the red round circle just smaller than a dime on the back indicate. My guess I the number picture one is on. I just touched it gently and it crumbled. I guess I have to find a clear red piece of this plastic and replace it. Any input would be appreciated 👍👍

T is "Timer" That cylinder is a pneumatic release - where in more modern cameras you would use a cable so as to not touch the camera for long exposures, with that camera you would attach a rubber hose to the nipple on the bottom of that cylinder, and at the other end of the hose would be a "bulb". Squeeze the bulb and air pressure will trip the shutter ( hence the term "bulb" ) when "T" (timer or timed), one squeeze of the bulb will open the shutter, a second squeeze will close it. For the missing red film counter window, simply cover it with a red filter gel (dark red film) I'm have a 1904/5 Brownie folding camera that I recently resurrected and took out for a shoot. Depending on what film yours takes, there may be some converted film (127 for instance is available check B&H) or you might be able to convert the camera (add a mask inside the camera) and with adapters for the spool size, use 120 film which is readily available.

Looks like the Pony Premo cameras. those were produced from I believe the late 1890s to the late 1910s or very early 20s with different models. at first they were produced by Rochester then later by Kodak after buying Rochester. Can't say what model this is though, unfortunately.

I have just been gifted a No4 Cartridge Kodak, the next model, with the chrome and brass front standard.. It is in excellent condition, with only minor wear and tear.. Mine is fitted out with the 104 (4"x5") roll film rollers, frame, and associated back/door..

I inherited one from my aunt after she passed. It is a "No. 3A folding pocket kodak model b-5" S/N 26486" that was made in Toronto, Canada. I have been trying to figure out when it was made and which location in Toronto that it was made in? Any site that you can direct me to to answer my question? Thanx!

Thank-you. I have one of these 3-A Model C from my father (born 1893, had me at 66 years old, died 88 years old) and could not figure it out until now. Mine has T, B, 25, 50 and 100 for shutter speeds (seem to all work) and the aperture from 4 to 128. Cannot get mine to move side to side though. Was researching to find what it was to sell when I came upon your video, but now will keep it and have it restored & the haze on the lens hopefully removed. Maybe use it again someday. Did not know about the button to open it up which made your clip very helpful. Last patent date is 1909 on mine. My father was a shutter bug (have hundreds of old photos) so am guessing he purchased this new. Have a Leica IIIf that he purchased new in April of 1953 and I still use it, so now will hopefully add this one.

My camera matches yours with regard to aperture, shutter, and patents. I also have the leather case with owner's initials (I assume) monogrammed on the opening catch. I had no idea how to open it until I watched this video, so thanks to the original poster.

I somehow acquired one of these. it is in rougher shape, and I'm having trouble opening the film chamber. the switch is stuck in the open position, but is not opening. Might be rusted. Curious if you've discovered the aperture f-stop on this camera?

    • @rancosteel
      @rancosteel 3 года назад

The manual states from 6 feet to infinity, so I would guess it is f11-f16.@1/60th of a second. 116 film speed was ASA 125 so I would use only 100-200 ASA film. Some images may be slightly over exposed or under exposed. Try using a small drop of Kano Kroil for the slight rust. It smells bad but works great. www.amazon.com/Kano-Kroil-Penetrating-liquid-KROIL/dp/B000F09CF4

@@rancosteel Thanks for the reply info, and the penetrating oil suggestion. It has tremendous reviews, apparently even after removing any potential fake reviews. I can give it a try. I've since picked up a refurbished TLR (MINOLTA AUTOCORD). Haven't used these medium formats yet, but these toys will be fun to play with using BW FILM.

Snagged one today. The bellows on mine look new, with no leaks. The shutter works, but the cover has seen many better days. Going to recover it and being that it's mine, not going back with black. Thinking rainbow poops. Great video, thanks.
