    Thanks for the idras. I also have health issues, and i should really change my diet. I would like to know what you eat when you can't eat tomatoes. I love tomatoes, but i think i need to try to go without for a while to see if it helps me feel better

      I'm sorry you are dealing with health issues. I just don't eat tomatoes and I don't use anything to substitute it. So for the meal with the tomato sauce for example, I would just set aside some beef without sauce and eat the beef with zucchini. Removing tomatoes and other things from my diet have really helped me manage my Rheumatoid arthritis. All the best to you ☺

    For the sunflowers you can save the outside & little yellow inner petals, dehydrate & make tea! 🌻 You can also grill the sunflowers heads & top with olive oil, basil, sundried tomatoes, salt...yum! I have sunflowers in my backyard. Mammoth variety. Waiting for them to grow! They're almost 2 feet tall. Love your garden!

      We grow everything from seed. We had a few different varieties: Ruby Red, White Spanish, Walla Walla.

    The lettuce is to close to the other plant. You can put wood chips between the plant for less weed.

    Just about to transplant strawberries as well. Have you ever overwintered strawberries in a green stalk? I’m wondering if they survived. im in a zone 5. 🙂

      It's the perfect time to transplant strawberries! I have never overwintered strawberries in a green stalk since this is my first season growing them in a green stalk. I'll definitely do it this year.

    The leaves are edible too, zucchini can cook like cucumber too, stir fry it, cook soup or even spicy like curry powder or spicy pepper add coconut milk if available if dont have coconut you can add soy milk anyway cook like you love the most, lastly you make tempura that is delicious, if you are not vegan add fish , meat or shrimps to the curry that are so delicious or cook with shrimp add tomatoes sauce

    I make zucchini sticks, fritters, bread, sauted, ratatouille as well as dehydrated and blended into a powder to be added to soups, stews and gravies. That is just a few. Can you tell, I love zucchini. ❤❤❤

    Love it, a found watermelon and onions. I need to garden with cow panels. I grow the dark oil seed varieties. I believe all sunflowers are edible, we just like the big seeded ones. Your chicken coop look space age, very cool. You have a very long growing season from me.

      Cattle panels were a game changer for us. It allows us to grow so much more food in a small garden. What is your hardiness zone? Is your garden done for the season?

    I don't use any fertilizer at all I make compost from food scraps and plant with it at the beginning and when I want to stimulate the plant growth. There is a lot of food scraps every day so it's wonderful.

      I love it!! We also make our compost, but because we don't have any food scraps (everything goes to our chickens) we aren't able to make too much.

      we use cattle panels to make the hoops for trellising. We get them from Menards or Tractor Supply. Thanks for stopping by! 😊
