I’ve never heard a complaint about any of the Coronet lathes. They seem to be excellent lathes. As for the tool rest, you can order a Robust tool rest that has a bar of hardened tool steel along the top edge. I’ve used one for years. Only thing I’ve had to do to it is clean the CA off of it a few times. Good review.

Question: do you use a soft wood for these flowers? Pine? Ash? Dry or with Moisture left in it?

Love that you are using home made paste and OB shine juice. It seems that everyone is using either Akks or Yorkshire grit which is expensive, and as far as I can tell is not better. I made a big tub of paste a couple of years ago and I still have 1/2 of it left. I'm subscribed and look forward to your other pieces. Jim, Montana Wood Art, Bozeman MT

You have got to have balls of steel. I have not seen anybody else move the centers like that before. I was expecting to tree go flying long before it did. Thanks for sharing and how daring you are.

I like the snowman you turned. The bark adds pizzazz to it. I just got my first lathe and I'm hoping to make a few things for my sisters for Christmas. I say it would be the snowman and bandsaw deer. I would suggest that you get some over the top film to show what chisel you are using and how you are using it. I know that would help with amateurs just like myself. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and your wisdom
