Uncovering Roses From a Long Wisconsin Winter
When would you water next? How often would you water like that?
What do you mean by “soluble fertilizer”? Is this the liquid type that is sprayed on foliage?
Soluble fertilizer is liquid or dry fertilizer that needs to be diluted or dissolved in water before it's used. It can be applied through drip irrigation or foliar application.
Thanks Doc. Great info. I worry about my tomato's allot with to much water. I do mine in pots. And of course can't control amount of rain. Happens to be going on with mine right now. Dead Central Ohio I'm on it, thanks again.
Loving your content! Thanks for the helpful info.
What collar brand are you using. Most I found are small
Thanks for the video!
Love the Kwik Trip Cup to hold them while planting!!! (And great idea given how many I've got..)
I will try this. I bought a bag of 30 still have 8 or so left left and will do this so I can get another 16 plants!! I wonder if there is a certain way you need to cut them like right down the middle. If you can cut them in half no reason you can't cut into 3 pieces. 😱👍 Lol I am definitely gonna try it. Good info to know.
Thank you! I enjoyed your video! Good tips for a great crop!
How much mulch ?
4-6 inches. Thanks for watching!
Please explain what you mean by 6-8 canes per running foot.
no more than 6 to 8 plants or shoots in a 12 inch or 1 foot space for max production.
I believe he means per plant, when they grow out of the ground, keep the count you allow to grow at to 6 or 8 new shoots.
Greetings from SoCal zone 10b! Thank you for this timely video on grapevines! I planted new plants last year in spring and in autumn that have never fruited. Do they still need to be trimmed? Both are on on arbor trellis on opposite ends.
Newly planted grape vines may take up to 3 years to produce fruit. For more information on pruning, feel free to reference this guide on Jungseed.com: www.jungseed.com/category/grape-garden-guide
@@thegardendoctor yes this is the general growth time in most areas however a botanist in this area (zone 10b) told me it takes only 1 year here in his own years of experience of growing grapes. We shall see.
Yum! 😂
We have a short season too. Was thinking about trying peat pots for my curcubits this year. Thanks for sharing!
I've never seen this tip before!
Wow! What are the plants with beautiful burgundy foliage in the flat on the steps? Gorgeous!
I'm surprised to see you using wooden/bamboo stakes to mark your rows. I've tried using them and they mold/mildew on me. Any suggestions to keep that from happening? Or is it just par for the course? Thanks!
They look so nice and healthy! 🧅
By doing this aren't we damaging the bulb?
Someone should buy this sweetheart some gloves
where do I find the plastic cylinder? thank you
thanks from a first time roser
Great info...Do you rinse off the soil when you lift the corms and then dry out in open air for a while? It looks like this video starts with already cured corms. Would like your expertise from the very beginning of the process. Thanks so much.
Excellent!
I've been growing glads for years and your video has taught me so much in just a few minutes. Thank you!
Thank you
Cute lil’ helpers. Great info.
If only everyone knew how to take care of amaryllis. Such a stunning flower. Thank you for the information.
Although I’m in Zone 9B and I don’t have to do this, I enjoyed your detailed information. Happy Gardening.
🙏🏻 😊thank you for your video.
Thank you so much for providing the detailed explanations and the demonstration. I’ll definitely try these two methods of winter protection. (@ zone 6a)
Can't see poor close- ups. Go info though
How soon will you harvest this crop of garlic? early/late Spring? or into the summer?
Great info and wisdom; thank u sir!
Thank you for this! For someone living in Finland, this was very useful.
I bet he does know A LOT!
Nice. It'd be nice to see the progression and update of this when it grows and comes to fruition.
Thank you. Try !
Doumo aregato gozai mashta ❤
thank you so much 💓
Love your furry "helper"!
Do you ever use a soil innoculant for your beans and peas? Thanks.
I usually do and have in past videos. I wanted to show another way to get them started.
Oh my! That is a good bed of Asparagus. Mine is tiny. Eight plants. Not much room. Has been around six years. Never fertilized yet. Water once a week. Put them in a small ditch so I could flood them. Once a week. When I planted them I put down manure, garden soil with sand mixed into the clay. You have a nice bed.
Thank you! There's nothing better than fresh asparagus.
Glad Wing is there to ‘assist’!
She is the best helper! You should see the blooper reel!
These traps attract beetles from all around. Put it 500 yds from the gardens. You'll get every beetle withing a mile.
I, too, have mine in a raised bed also interested.
Watch for a short coming soon that will explain.
@@thegardendoctorwill that short be coming out because i have 2 beds. One is going on its 3rd year and the other is going on its second. Ive never done anything to them. Im in zone 7b and they dont die off in the winter. The first bed i got an excellent yield last year so im expecting that the 2nd bed will also have a great yield in its second year. But im wondering if the third year on the first bed will dwindle because its so overgrown. Really curious what i should do.
My strawberries didn’t produce a lot this year. Maybe I need to renovate the patch?? They’re in a raised bed though so I’m not able to mow them. Do I just trim them down and pull out the mother plants?
We filmed a short to answer your question. We will get it posted in the next few days!
Perfect timing! My William Baffin climbing rose just finished its first flush, and I was just starting to deadhead--and I didn't know I should prune back to a 5-leaflet bit, so I'll get back out and re-trim some. Thank you! It helped to see you do it. It also helped to see you fertilize and treat for aphids. You were in no rush, and I appreciate that. So much easier to follow.
You're so very welcome. Glad it was helpful to you.
Thanks. Do you have to have a sweet boy helping to make this work ?😊❤
