What do you mean by “soluble fertilizer”? Is this the liquid type that is sprayed on foliage?

    • @thegardendoctor

Soluble fertilizer is liquid or dry fertilizer that needs to be diluted or dissolved in water before it's used. It can be applied through drip irrigation or foliar application.

I will try this. I bought a bag of 30 still have 8 or so left left and will do this so I can get another 16 plants!! I wonder if there is a certain way you need to cut them like right down the middle. If you can cut them in half no reason you can't cut into 3 pieces. 😱👍 Lol I am definitely gonna try it. Good info to know.

Oh my! That is a good bed of Asparagus. Mine is tiny. Eight plants. Not much room. Has been around six years. Never fertilized yet. Water once a week. Put them in a small ditch so I could flood them. Once a week. When I planted them I put down manure, garden soil with sand mixed into the clay. You have a nice bed.

Im in zone 7b and they dont die off in the winter. The first bed i got an excellent yield last year so im expecting that the 2nd bed will also have a great yield in its second year. But im wondering if the third year on the first bed will dwindle because its so overgrown. Really curious what i should do.
