Great stuff.. almost all my songs I've written are on piano which I can't play; im a drummer and guitarist! All sound so different at production. They also sound different to my usual sound when I put them back on guitar, too.

Thanks Rob. I really enjoy listening to these little gold nuggets of advice you post up on You Tube. I attended the open session on the Tuesday evening of the International Songwriting Retreat in the The Lark Theatre Balbriggan last week as well as the finale concert on Sunday. I didnt get the opportunity to meet you on the Sunday. Too many people talking to you at the after party and I didnt want to interrupt! Im hoping to do the week long retreat myself next year! Who was it that said "I only wrote hits"? Anyway, everynsong seems like a hit while you're writing it, but you're right that waiting and having space between you amd that song can give you bettwr perspective! Ill be releasing my first song soon thay i known is not my absolute best, but gives me a base and production practice before getting to my best stuff... we'll see hownit goes from there... cheers and thanks for sharing your thoughts to the world

Great points as always! What really stood out to me is your line: "that's a really cool part, I'd like to learn how to play that!". Never thought of it that way before but in reflecting, I can see that I have that thought.on so many of my favourite songs! 👏 This will help me with my own production going forward.
