One of the things my high school had was they made all students work on a “senior project” in their final school year. You could make this project as small or as grand as you’d like, but the premise was simple: use it as a skill building opportunity, career planning opportunity, connection making opportunity, and present it all in the end as public speaking opportunity so that each student was well equipped, prepared, and ready to engage in the real world. Mine was becoming a private pilot (almost), but one of my classmates renovated a deteriorating house, another restored a car; one of them did a research project on ocean plastic, another studied Italian, and one even created her own fragrance line! But what it did teach me was building new skills and forming new connections to plan for my career ahead, that’s what was really going to prepare me for the real world. Obviously you don’t have to do a whole project to help you with all of that, but you mentioned that you’re only taking 2 classes in your final year, one I doubt even requires homework, therefore you have a lot of free time on your hands to prepare for what’s next, like you mentioned in finding an entry level job. Don’t be afraid to go beyond that though, one of my friends worked his way up from an entry level position at Home Depot, to store manager in 4 years simply by building connections and learning the trade, now he’s made six figures at 22 years old, never spent a day on a college campus. And even though I barely know you beyond the comps we’ve competed at and pointing out local shopping malls in my area lol, but all I hope is the best for you this school year and beyond, I know you’ll do great!

This video really hits home for some reason. I at one point tried posting videos like this where I would just record my days and I felt much better about myself and wanted to document my sophomore year which I did like all of december, but I'm a junior now and am sure that this feeling will come soon to me. But make your senior year a good one to end on! 👍
