1/5 Baja buggies, Ol' Smithy and the Reck
I put some knobbies on Ol' Smithy and gave it a run on the grass, had a race with the Reck, then the Reck was a wreck again 😃😃. Gotta fix the rear shockies, other than that, it went well.

I put some truck slicks on Ol' Smithy, see how it went on the road. Gave the Reck a couple runs, poor old thing never had a chance, we knew that though, it has a 29cc with 17/57 gears, was just a bit of fun. Ol' Smithy hooks along pretty well.

Well, that was a lot of fun, a Baja buggy buzzing around for a few minutes, the USA 1 and the Silverado doing over the BMX track. Chuckle, I think all vehicles survived, that is good news 😁.

Took the Rampage to the park, ran it for a few minutes, was gonna race the USA 1, then, all of a sudden, front wheel drive only, turns out that the grub screw for the drive shaft on the rear diff came loose, tightened it up, with some locktite, all good. gave it a quick run on the street, went well. Whew 😁😁

Another test run with the Revo Funny Car. This time the wing is painted, finally, lol. I have softened the rear suspension, the wheelie bar is as low as it can go, seemed to run pretty good.

So, last time I ran Ol' Smithy, a couple of things broke, all fixed now. Put on some grippier, bigger tyres and it went good.

Well, this was an interesting run, Ol' Smithy could not get the X Maxx off the mark, but once wound up, beat it on the top end, was pretty cool 😁😁. The outer wear on the air filter got a bit clogged with dust, had not cleaned it for a while.

We pulled out the transfer diff, cleaned out the junky stock plasticine stuff that was in there, that had about as much resistance as water and put in some 300,000 wt silicon oil. Much better, he said, the front wheels do not balloon and much more power goes to the back wheels, another success.

This is a Traxxas Revo 3.3 with a J Concepts body on it, a 1967 Chevy Camaro. The wing has to be painted yet. All the aluminium chassis parts have been stripped and re-anodised Gold, all the link rods have been sand blasted and painted metallic green and the servo guards have been changed to red anodised aluminium. This is a Sledge Hammer that I bought second hand, was giving it a quick run, have had a bit of trouble with it, the fuel tank was a bit of a problem, changed it, the new one is a bit smaller, I think it is no good, every time it gets to a half tank, it starts running bad or dies. I took the 59 to the workshop the other day, to show the boys, what a poor show, would not pull a wheely at all, the tune was fine. Yeah, went well. I had to do a couple of repairs after the last run, this was a little test run.

You know, it interesting that you ask, so I thought about it. My neighbours come out and watch now and then, they sometimes ask how the RC vehicles are going, they never ever whinge. I never run the RC stuff for very long or very often on the street, so I believe it does not bother them. I have awesome neighbours. Do you have awesome neighbours?

@ I’ve heard them s50 engines tend to run quite hot idk if it’s because it’s a big engine because my hyper.30 turbo engine in my mt truck tends to run on the hotter side

Clutch is slipping terrible
Yeah, I know. I have installed a lower RPM clutch, will see how that goes. Also, I will change the gearing to 17/57, at present it is 19/55, see what happens.
