    I don't know why you did not try to fire all 9 mini shells in gun? I think you know it probably would not function with all of them. Many shotguns will work with 2 or 3 if you work the action really fast!

    using an oven to melt plastic? you insane ? just use acetone in a well ventilated space, you would done it in 3-5 minutes lmao.

    I am thinking a plaster of paris and sand mix would work just as well as a mold. I am also thinking if that plastic dissolves in Acetone like Styrofoam does, then you could just liquefy it in Acetone, then just pour it in the mold and let it dry with no need for heat.

  • @tyredlie
    @tyredlie 3 месяца назад

    Quicker to put the plastic in a pot and put that on the stove to melt. Use plaster of Paris instead of concrete for a smoother article.

    Great tutorial. Only thing I'd do different, is use a scrap 2x6 or wood from the scrap pile or firewood to carve out the original design, then spray with cooking oil, or release spray. Nice designs for the slingshots. I wonder how much weight a 1/4 inch thick sheet of plastic could hold?

      Likely uses Winchester parts except for the buttstock.That looks like the stock on the Sears 200 Ted Williams. You know, the Winchester has a wedge shaped stock at the receiver and the Sears is more conventional. I like this one EXCEPT it is made in CHINA............. DISQUALIFIED.

    • @thereality700
      @thereality700 11 дней назад

      @@tomgoodwin9161I remember the Ted Williams Model 200 by Sears. It was the one with the triangle shape at buttstock where it met the triangle shape cut out at the reciever. The 1300 butt was not interchangeable. It was flat square as the receiver.

      @@tomgoodwin9161 My bad it was the other way around. Just as you mentioned. Been a while, but I remember they were both fine shotguns. The action opened automatically about half way after each shot for faster shots.

    When my dad was in high school, I'm 52, he made a 2 piece plaster mold. He then painted it and cast parts from wax. He then made a 1 piece mold with plaster from the wax piece. He then took the mold to his metals shop in school and poured molten aluminum into it. He never tried to remove the wax, just poured over it and it burnt out with metal replacing. Hid it before teacher seen and let it cool. He would just break the mold away, remove the sprew, and sanded it. I seen 1 pair of the brass (aluminum) nucks he cast in school.

    Its a great gun, doesn't require much maintenance. I would only advise getting a recoil pad, as the recoil is a lot for me (im 155lb and 5'10) especially shooting slugs and heavy loads. The fact that it can run mini shells is a huge plus, that may negate the recoil. Im gonna go buy a box and go shooting this weekend. I hope that works lol. Great video! Very informative.

    You can get high heat resistant silicone so make the sling shot the same way with cardboard only maybe smooth it out with sulfer free clay n pour the silicone as you did the concrete, cutting the plastic in to smaller pieces will make for a cleaner less bubbled result.

    Hey I been bouncing around on RUclips looking for ideas on my project. Your idea is beautiful. I would also like to suggest the vacuum former method. Basically, all you need is a box to stick a vacuum in, with a mesh top. You sit your model on top of that mesh. Then you create a frame/border to hold a PVC sheet with, above a stove or some heat source hot enough until the plastic start sagging. Then you can quickly set that heated plastic sheet on top of the model and create an accurate mold of the model. I hope this helps someone.

    Thank you for this! I’ve been looking for a way to mold recycled polypropylene without having to buy a ton of equipment, and this is the first video I found that uses such a simple method. Just one question though- Will it be safe to use already-fired clay for the mold or will it explode in my oven?
