Can you please do a video on carbonyl reactions/nucleophilic additions to aldehyde and ketones? “Will the molecule act as an electrophile or nucleophile?” Thank you :)
Hey! I will try my best but I cannot promise since I super busy in real life rn :(. That is quite far in my lesson plan but I will see what I can do
Hey , your videos are so helpful but how do you know if you should make the invisible hydrogens wedges or dashes? Thank you
Hey Thank you so much! Great question! Scenario 1: If there is an atom already present on a wedge or a dash, then the invisible hydrogen must be whatever that atom is not. Since each carbon can only have 1 wedge and 1 dash bonded to it, it makes the hydrogen whatever is not drawn. For example, if a chlorine is drawn as a wedge, the hydrogen must be on a dash because that is what is left. Scenario 2: If there are 2 invisible hydrogens, it does not matter which one you put on a wedge or a dash because they are the same atom! You will get the same answer either way! Hopefully I answered your question?
@@KishansClasses yes i understand now … your videos are literally a saving grace thank youu. Do you have any videos that explain this type of question “The label of a container of methanol (methyl alcohol) invairably indicates that its contents are poisonous and should not be taken internally. Methanol, CH3OH, which is not very toxic, is metabolized by the enzyme methanol oxidase to formaldehyde (Methanal), H2C=O, which is very toxic. Methanol poisoning is sometimes treated by giving the patient ethanol, CH3CH2OH, which inhibits the enzyme. Identify similarities and differences in the structures of methanol + ethanol that could account for ethanol’s acting as an inhibitor.” as I’m struggling and your teaching is the only way I understand 😭
@@KishansClasses also do you have any videos on thermodynamics?
Why in question c H30 is more acidic?
Hey! The hydronium ion (H30) carries a positive charge, making it super unstable. The molecule wants to lose a proton (H+) to relieve this instability. This makes it a very strong acid. Typically, whenever you see a positive charge on a molecule, thing acidic!
My exam just finished yesterday I’m cooked😭
NOOOO! We need to uncook the situation!
thanks
I got you!!
Super dope you should have more subscribers 🎉
BRO I WISH! Thank you!!
I've gone through 5+ Newman projection videos yours are the only ones that made sense. Thank you!
YESSS!! I am so happy to hear that!!
Would you ever consider doing online personal tutoring sessions?
Haha I actually did online personal tutoring sessions a while ago for quite some time. Currently, I am so busy with my research, I don't have much time. If I were to tutor, I would probably only do Human Physiology/Biochem right now as Organic Chemistry takes a while
Yo i noticed that you usually spam hashtags in the description . You might be doing it wrong because for the tags to work I shouldnt be able to see them. Try going in studio and to tags and write "Biochem" and hit enter. You should get a bubble around it. This might get your videos more traction. Unless you're already doing that.
Haha thanks! I actually already do that. I do this as well 😂
My professor doesn’t add an eye or arrow :(
If you remember, how does your professor ask the questions? We can figure this out!
this is honestly so helpful thank you
I am glad!!
Super unrelated but your hair looks so shiny and lush
Hahaha a good shampoo and conditioner can do that!
Great break down thank you!
Thank you so much!
thank you king needed this one 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Let’s goo! I got you!
Perfect timing
Calculated! Enjoy 40 minutes of hell 💀💀😭😭😂
what do you do when the perspective is from top or bottom?
I am going to be completely honest and say I have no idea lol. Mostly because I have never seen a problem when the perspective is completely on top looking down, mostly because you would know the front carbon, but there really wouldn’t be a back carbon. Do you have a specific example you were given or just asking? In all the years I have tutored Ochem, I have never seen a question from top -> bottom or bottom-> top lol
Any videos about calcium-induced calcium release? Also does any calcium enter through the DHP receptor from the ECF?
I actually don't have any videos on calcium-induced calcium release but I can certainly make one if you would like! So a very minimal amount of calcium enters through the DHP receptor from the ECF in skeletal muscle. In cardiac cells, it I much more plentiful. Most of the calcium is in the Sarcoplasmic reticulum when the organelle is formed. Calcium concentrations basically bounces back from the sarcoplasm (cytoplasm) and back to the Sacroplasmic reticulum.
@@KishansClasses thanks so much for the clarification! Do they play a role in smooth muscles at all?
Everytime I study I have to take out a notebook and do the whole pomodoro timer. Now I just binge your videos and it just clicks

That is coming up very shortly!
My exam is on Monday and there's an Nmr question. No rush tho 😂
Yo lock in and finish orgo 2 my semester starts in february
AH Shit, I have my work cut out for me.
Will you make a video on alkene reactions especially methyl and hydride shifts? I am so lost in my class.
Sure can!
AH watched this video right before my Orgo exam! It was super helpful thank you so much :)
Let’s goo!! Lock in that A+ for me!
I'm lucky to have come across your videos. The fact that you uploaded just in time is astonishing.
Calculated!
finding out where to put the dash and wedges was the only thing where i messed up but after the rule you showed, much much easier to draw them!!
I am so glad!
Very informative thank u king
I got you!!!
Great explanation. Have looked through RUclips to find one that was able to break it down as simple as you can. 👏
AYYYEE! I am so glad!
Thank you for the very informational vid, but can I ask 12:44 why is the shorter carbon bond priority #2 while the longer one is #3? I don't get it
Ah good question! So the length of the carbon chain doesn’t matter when assigning priority. What matters is what is connected to the carbon atom DIRECTLy in question. For example, I could a 30 carbon chain on one side, and one carbon and a oxygen on the other side, and the side with the oxygen will win So for this example: We looked at the chiral carbon and I said we have an OH, a Hydrogen and two carbons atom connect to the chiral carbon. So, then we move to the next carbon over on both sides and compare everything that is bonded to those carbons. So both carbons adjacent to the chiral carbon has 2 hydrogens and 1 carbon, so they are equal. Since they are equal, we move 1 carbon down on both sides and analyze everything bonded to those carbons. Here, the left carbon (the shorter one) has 2 carbons and 1 hydrogen attached. The longer carbon has 1 carbon and 2 hydrogens attatched. So comparing the atoms, 1 C and the 1 C cancels out. Then we compare 1C to 1 H. The carbon wins so that is why it is assigned the higher priority The big key takeaway is that you don’t analyze the entire chain, only what is Directly bonded to that carbon in question you are looking at.
@@KishansClasses oh i see thank you very much!
If my explanation doesn't make sense, I certainly don't mind making a video to clear it up cause it is a common question! What a lot of people do is they look at the chiral carbon, and see 2 carbons. One may be longer than the other (Like this example) and then they assign the priority to the longer carbon because it has the most atoms. Unfortunately this doesn't work because what if the chiral carbon was located in a ring. If you were to go left or right, you just go in a circle. That is why you must look at every carbon one by one and analyze every atom bonded to those carbons
@@julianananarose Absolutely! I hope my explanation was somewhat useful!

YES FINALLY
Let’s Gooooooo!!
Please make one on Chemical Reactivity and Mechanisms and Alkyl Halides: Nucleophilic Substitution and Elimination Reactions

@@Stubborn214 I can do that!
@@KishansClassesbut why not doing?
@@Stubborn214Been busy this past week and have other video requests
Good explanation thank you 🙏
I got you!
In my book it is written that two redox equivalents are taken from 3PGAL so I didn't understand how the H from HPO4 is taken in the reaction
Hey! So In Step 6 of glycolysis, two redox equivalents (electrons and a proton) are taken from G3P and transferred to NAD+, reducing it to NADH. In this oxidation, a high-energy thioester intermediate is formed and then phosphorylated by inorganic phosphate (HPO₄²⁻), creating 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate (1,3-BPG). The proton from HPO₄²⁻ is not directly involved in the redox part of the reaction but instead, inorganic phosphate (Pi) is added to the molecule without involving an H transfer from the phosphate group.

At 12:55, the Cl needs to be in the equatorial position (which you did correctly), but it should point to the left since it's on the left side of the chair conformation.
