The video shows the prototype for a Bluetooth adapter which allows shut off control of a grinder based on real time weight readings from an Acaia Coffee Scale. Phone app gets weight readings from the scale, and sends a signal to the ARM3 microcontroller (via second bluetooth socket) which shuts off the relay to the grinder. Weight accuracy before was within /- 1.5g from target. Espresso Preciso...

cmpe244 final project at SJSU Wireless power transfer prototype. The video shows a successful 260 degrees scan for max power transfer, which happens when the loops are parallel. Note we start at an odd angle, perform the scan, and the algorithm places the receiver loop parallel to the transmitter, solely guided by power transfer intensity sensed via ADC.

43.52 seconds?
I was just taking this video to share with Chris Coffee's technician about something I was troubleshooting related to pressure, which now I can't remember what it was... In any case, what's wrong with 43 seconds pull :) ? More often than not, slow shots on this machine taste much better than what you'd expect, compared to usual 25 - 30s pulls. You should try it
Дайте ему проспаться и не вилять по дороге ;) Похоже, что ПИД настроен плохо.
I have those same rope toys for my fila pup but i need a rubber one bc he always likes to chew on everything (including my fingers) 🙄
Hello Haroldo: I have watched your wonderful video ever since my Fila died about a year ago. It cheered me to see what a great bond you were developing w Otis and how much care you took training him. I thought he was a particularly nice puppy: alert, intelligent, happy to please his owner and, w a sense of humor. It was fun to watch him! I may be looking for another Fila and I was hoping you would remember Otis’ breeder. I read some of the comments made and one did ask about Otis’ breeder. You said u weren’t sure but it was in Mendocino, CA. I Googled Northern Cal Fila breeders and came up w “Granada”, “Harakhan” and “CA Filas”. Were they any of these? I’d appreciate any info you can give me. Thank you. Again, u created a memorable video with a great dog. DD
Hi thanks for your kind words. His parents actually came from Granada, even though we didn't actually get him from Granada directly. Otis is now almost 7 years old. He had one of his rear legs amputated due to osteosarcoma, but he has been cancer free for over a year. We are so lucky
Thank you, Haroldo, for replying so quickly to my comments and question. I was so happy to hear that Otis was now cancer-free but, what a horrible experience for you all to go thru. The great thing about dogs is how quickly they take it in stride. They are quite courageous, especially this breed. So many characteristics
... (continuing from last comment.. pressed send button by mistake).. to appreciate. I found it interesting that the bloodline was Granada but Otis did not come directly from them. Whomever had him, initially, gave him a good start, judging by his confidence and happy demeanor. I run a kennel tho’ don’t breed dogs. My Fila was socialized with my clients and played in the kennel playgroups throughout his life. He still could be ‘guard dog’, when appropriate. Thank you, again, for so generously giving the info you know abt Otis’ breeding. I hope he continues to stay well and safe, as do you. DD
sir please give me coding of this project i am mtch students my email id is kratika.patidar.4@gmail.com

Please give me the code of project
HEY GUYS I WANTED TO DO THIS SAME PROJECT OF YOURS. IS THERE A POSSIBLITY WHERE YOU CAN SHARE ME YOUR CODE AND ALSO THE EQUIPMENTS YOU USED.
What is the cost to build this car
You think by making this little sh** you are better than google huh ? you stupid 2:35
Could u plz explain the circuit and the coding
you do know what RC means right? title is a bit contradictory
I don't know if the car is driving itself or not
any breaking feature is added to this system......?
no need. when you don't give power to it it stops.
Fun an All....But I was looking for help with Kawasakis idea of a system that wasn't needed......I click on your joke of a video and I lose 1:41min of my life that you now owe me........smiles.........Next time keep your pranking to facebook or texting........
Just curious, do you own a c14? By the way the thumbs down number over thumbs up should have given you a clue this video is probably not helpful :). Brian has an inline adapter that allows you to start the bike in case the switch gets stuck. Easy to install and costs about 50 bucks if I remember correctly. Fwiw, in 10 years of ownership I've never had an issue with kipass. Of course the natural shortcoming is that the bike cannot be push started...
If you saw it vertical, why in Hell did you post this worthless time wasting crap.....
It was meant to be a joke with someone at the time. When the concours first came out there used to be kipass team vs the kipass haters team... To you it is probably worthless. I get it

What happens to Otis when you go for 3 weeks on vacation? Does he get very sad ? and who will take care of hin and feed him?
Well, as you know Filas don't like strangers (dog, person, or child). Once we had a sitter which knew him since he was a puppy and stayed at our house. Now we either leave him with a family member, or we introduce him to a new sitter to stay at our house. We did this last time we went on vacation. We hired the new sitter to come and just hang out with him for about 2 months once a week, until he got used to her. It's definitely not trivial. You have to know what you are getting into when you get a Fila. You can't train this out of them. They are protective and don't like strangers, and there is nothing you can do to change that, so you have to find ways to work around it.
What do you do if you have a birthday party at your home and many strangers come? do you just put him in a bedroom until the guests leave? Or if your friends come to visit, were does otis go?
We did everything we could do desensitize Otis since he was little. We take him with us since he was a puppy to most public outings, beach, restaurants, etc. Although he doesn't like it, he is used to having strange people around, and is not a lunging maniac. He is very well behaved and does not engage others. He does not like, however, to be engaged by strangers. This is hard because he is an amazing looking dog, so people approach. When my wife and I take the lead and stop them, he keeps it to himself and let us take care of most situations. When people come to our house, he might bark and growl at first. This lasts for a few minutes until he realizes my wife and I have it under control (i.e. we know the people). He then ignores the visitors for at least an hour, and in many occasions, by the end of their visit, he would have become their friend, and let them pet him, etc. The key is that we always tell visitors to ignore him then they come in, and we ask them that they come in with confidence, as if they owned our house. This always seems to send Otis a good message. Now, if there will be small children present then we don't take any risks and isolate him either on the back yard, or lock him in our bedroom.
I really appreciate your taking time to explain all this. I have had many dogs and different breeds all my life, but the Fila has been the one I would most like to have. I have read all I can find on the, and also seen all the videos on youtube that I can find. The one thing that holds me back at the moment is that I have a 3 year old female doberman that is very much into the family, she's like our personal bodygard plus is more loving than any other dog we've had. I don't know how she would react to a male Fila or the fila to her, I know puppies adapt ok to other dogs in the house, but how will two strong temperament and dominant caracter dogs get along?
I read that the worst thing in the world for a fila is when a stranger tries to pet him, they hate that!
What are the things to make it??
Hi can I get codes
There is a problem with this project...
This car will stop if the distance between its current location and the final location is lower than 1 meter, right?
tilted wheels
Nerd alert! Who actually takes the time to make a video like this? Setting up the different camera angles, adding the music and all the text.... this guy obviously doesn't have a woman in his life. That dog looks like a specimen though. To good for this guy posting this nerdy video.
loks like your error correction becomes the main error. not clever at all not understanding error correction
Cool project! By the way, why did you decide to use the chassis Traxxas 1/10 Slash 2WD? I am starting to build a mobile robot of my own and wondering what were the pros and cons of using this particular chassis as your base.
it is continuously steering left and right

First world kids wasting money...
how can u call this wasting money its a cool project making things like this you yourself possibly cant make ....
8Bit Coder Wat da!... Can't possibly can't make? I already did more complex things! This shit its a waste of money on electronics, almost 100$ that can be the monthly incomings of someone on the world. Stupidly big car, stupidly waste of board, stupidly use of modules instead of deploy they own board... Fucking rich kids in their safe backyard playing with expensive toys! Thinking they deploy some shit... My gosh...
Eduardo Anonimo its their choice for wanting to do it either as a hobby or an interest and some things like this can earn u a decent amount of money weather u get paid to do stuff like this or whatever.. main thing is if u have such a problem with this go have a go at the guys who build this thing and add another dislike to this video.. Go ahead.
Eduardo Anonimo in all honesty if u think these kids r wasting money Say the same about these kids... ruclips.net/video/p9XsldQjs_M/видео.html
Eduardo Anonimo 100 dollar a month... Where do you live? Africa😂
Traxxas slash 2wd?
This is perfect and what is defiantly desirable. Any update on possible availability?
What if GPS is not used ?
Then you could not use GPS point to point navigation, but you could still navigate around a track just fine
use geo location which uses wifimodule NODE Mcu
what blood line is otis?
Ah, I can't remember the sire name, but it was from some known breeder in CA. All I can say is that Otis in my view is an ambassador for the breed. He has all the temperament traces you would expect from a Fila, but because of heavy socializing, we can take him anywhere (restaurants, beach, etc). He doesn't mind people as long as they don't approach, and when they do, he is very "polite" in letting out a calm warning growl. He is not a psycho lunger, but at the same time, he could turn into one if needed.
i hope kareemah knows what fills are and what they are capable off...lol
Yeah, lots of people think they want a File because it's big, cuddly, cute, and mean as a guard dog, but they don't realize that it is a huge commitment which will affect their social lives in every aspect. With a Fila you can't just "have people come over" like before, and you can't just board the dog when you go on vacation. I've seen horror stories where people get Filas, try fruitlessly to train the temperament out of them, and when they realize they can't, they give the dog to an adoption kennel, which ends up putting the dog down because you can't just adopt a Fila without gaining their trust first, which can take weeks or months for an adult dog.
Good work, but i think the car have issue with steering, why dont you use the pid for steering?
We didn't use PID for steering because we passed the acceptance test without it. The goal was to enter a destination on a smart phone connected to the car via BT, and the car had to navigate to the destination autonomously while avoiding obstacles. And it did just that without fancy control algorithms of AI, with a very low budget, in a very short time.
I meant "...without fancy control algorithms or AI". sorry for the typo
but you already had a PI control for speed :D one more PI controller is no big deal but big effect
Not true. the reason why the car is twitchy is not because of steering performance. the reason is that the output of the obstacle avoidance engine is very noisy due to the crude sensors used. Closing the loop on steering would have zero effect on this
Lets all be honest here, the "avoidance engine" noise could have been cleared up with a dam $2 nano and 10 lines of code... far from "fancy control algorithms of AI", to borrow your words.
Did you use any AI / Machine learning?
No, there were no cameras. The car avoids obstacles with the aid of ultra sonic sensors and software algorithms to decide where to turn based on readings from all sensors.
Great work. You guys really inspired me. :)
I'm also doing my graduation in Computer Science Engineering. 1 month back, my team thought for the same project but we didn't know that someone has already made this one. It would be great if you guyss guide for the same, please contact - gnikhil175@gmail.com. ps.- You guyss are a true inspiration ;) ;) Keep the good work going ;)
Thanks for the kind comments. See our project report at www.socialledge.com/sjsu/index.php?title=F16:_Titans
Thank you :)
My new favourite video whats your secret to friendly and well trained dogs?
What a beautiful dog and video so well trained very young. I cant wait to own one.
Hi Kareemah Thanks for your kind comments. Otis is NOT friendly at all. Once he grew up, his temperament kicked in and now he does not like strangers (that includes adults, children, and other dogs). Filas are very intelligent, and are obsessed with their owners. They are easy to train after 6 months, although they are very stubborn at times. Of course, you cannot train them out of their temperament... He is a great guard dog, my wife has no fear of walking him any time day or night, and no one dares to come in our house without us there....It does have an impact on our social life though, as you may imagine. So, please do read up on Filas before committing to owning one, they are a lot of work. By the way, Otis weights 170 lbs now! :D
Yes I heard they are overprotective and do not like strangers. Exactly why I want one they are huge dogs wow how much to cost to feed this breed. It would be hard work and have to be very careful I'm assuming but worth it...
one of the best guard dog breeds. also have to take in to consideration they could be banned in some countries and the attacks but we should be alright. I love the music in the video also.
Dude, you hacked the Acaia for dosing? Awesome.
Johnathon Fitzpatrick Hi John! I wouldn't call it hacking, as Acaia supports developers with an open bluetooth API, but it was a lof of (fun) work. Now, the micro-controller and relay under my station, that for sure is a hack! :) I am however in the process of making this a kit, possibly available to others... We'll see how far I get with this thing.
+Haroldo Filho The kit would be a really cool thing. Didn't know they opened up the scale to software modification, but it makes sense.
check out decentespresso.com/doser We're planning to ship in spring 2016. The kit includes everything: - 1 android device running Android 5.1 and preloaded with the software (now called Decent Doser, by the company Decent Espresso) - 1 Bluetooth scale (not the Acaia) - 1 portafilter holder - 1 scale stand - 1 bluetooth power controller There have been major changes and improvements to the software since this video was posted. Stay tuned and check decentespresso.com/doser for more info. PS: Unfortunately Acaia has changed their API and their sharing policy, and you have to apply for it now in their website. They have several levels of access, and it's all encrypted. It's much more restricted than when I first developed it. We were planning on supporting Acaia with our product in addition to our own scale, but due to restrictions on their API, it doesn't look like we'll be able to support them in the final product. It's a shame, as the Acaia scale is an amazing product.
Haroldo Filho Probably because of their venture with the Baratza Sette 270W scales which seem to be built on Acaia.
The future in grinding, its finally here!
Thanks for the positive comments. One note is that the assembly under my coffee station has a male cord on one end (to the wall) and a female on the other (to the grinder). It will become a small and simple wall plug, which you just plug into the wall, and plug the grinder in the back. Download the app, and off you go :)
