I have lived here 5 1/2 years and going to disagree with you on 90% of what you have said. Yes, we are in the foothills of the mountain, but navigating to areas such as S'burg, or Simpsonville are very doable, there are plenty of "back roads" besides the interstate; you can take Hwy 11, Wade Hampton, White Horse Rd, etc.. NEVER had an issue with cell service, and I don't have Verizon. Never seen a bear or coyote here, though I did have coyotes come through my yard numerous times when I lived off of Woodruff Rd before moving here, however, if you go to areas more rural and north, out of the city limits and closer to the mountains then yes you will have wild animals. Please do a little more research before "trashing" this great town.

How is weather today?

How coincidental, grew up in NOVA, currently live in Jax area (PVB) and have been looking at Greenville for possible move for early retirement - tired of hurricanes, no change of seasons, no topography, drastic increase in cost of living. Just struggle with that 6% income tax and I don’t have same thoughts on personal property tax and cars. There are other things that give me pause.

At 04:03 add in fire ants. Lots and lots of fireants. And we have a lot of thieves and homeless people. One hospital and 90% of the doctors work for the hospital and they are not the ones that finished at the top of their class. One emergency room at the hospital. If you have a medical emergency they give you 8-12 hours to die before they see you. We have one ambulance service and they have no competition so they can be very slow to respond. The water company is city owned and it's very expensive water.

I am thinking of moving to Greenville ...what other areas around there are nice too?

It's a lot of trash all over the place. They just throw it out the window and if makes the truck bed great take to the dump, if not the prisoners will pick it up on the chain gangs. South Carolina 😮

It's not the cute small town anymore. They are trying to put homes in most of the green space. Going on down, they are trying to fill up Berea, Travelers Rest, Tigerville. The farm land is disappearing, and traffic is so bad.
