I don't think we will lose that Bears game that easy. I know people are on the hype dick of Caleb. Yet last year was the same for Bryce and look how that went. This is the guy who has the best chance to provide that presence on Defense that we’ve been missing since Mathis retired. Incredible technician. He has multiple pass rush moves and is very quick to use counter moves when his opponent gets the upper hand. Dude is relentless in his pursuit to get to the QB. He hasn’t missed a game in his last two seasons. Washington told him to medically retire, but he got a surgeon from UCLA (the same one who cleared Peyton) to clear him and help in the transition to the school, and played RUGBY in the meantime. There wasn’t a moment where Laiatu thought he was done playing football. A stat to get you onboard perhaps: Over the last 10 years in college football, no pass-rusher has had the Pass-rush win-rate that Laiatu does. That includes both Bosa brothers, T.J. Watt, and Myles Garrett. Over the last two years, I believe, no other pass-rusher in college football came within 10% of Laiatu’s win-rate. Double check those stats, but I’m pretty sure I saw those from a few credible sources on socials. Even if we don’t get 10+ years out of him, if he can be an elite presence on our defense for ~5, that’s worth the pick.

I understand the injury history concern, but a note they didn't point out... that was when he was at Wash. The DRs there medically retired him and thats why he transferred to UCLA, because they would help him with surgery. His entire playing time at UCLA has been post the surgery and he hasn't had a single hiccup in those two seasons. I'll trust that the NFL medical personnel knows what they are doing and suspect that the neck injury is not much to worry about in the present. Also yo note, this was the same injury Manning had, they both had surgery from the same DR, and we see how well Manning was able to play in DEN leading to his second SB win.

i understand the initial injury concern as well as the questions on the pick. looking at it now, i'm starting to come around to it. Doctor who operated and cleared him to play again was Manning's doctor Played 2 full seasons after the operation and put up top numbers A LOT of DB's fell to the second round, so we can still get our guy YET ANOTHER D-Lineman to open up chances for Dbuck, Grove, and others to get pressure/sacks If he lives up to his college numbers, this might be a pick to remember

I personally love this pick. Latu’s a talented big body edge, and I don’t think the colts will accept Kwity Paye’s fifth year option next year because he has been slightly less productive than anticipated. Latu was also cleared a long time ago, by the same doctor who cleared Peyton Manning of his neck injury, and has shown insane productivity since. As always, love the content Dashawn 💯

Honestly I thought last night went as well as it possibly could've for us. We literally got to stay put and pick any defensive player our hearts desired, and we snatched up the best pass rusher in the class. I firmly believe if the medicals were a concern at all we would've gone elsewhere but he hasn't missed a game in 2 years since coming back. I'm all the way in 💯 #ForTheShoe

I seem to like the pick a lot more now than I did last night. A lot of good corners ended up falling into the second round. We can still get a solid cornerback in the second round. The kid seems like he has a phenomenal work ethic and is willing to do whatever it takes and I’ve heard people say he’s got the most upside out of anyone in the draft and is league ready right now. Also: surgeon/doctors were the same ones that performed Peyton’s neck surgery.

The got rid of one of the best 4th quarter performers in Pickett and replaced him with the worst in the 4th. Pickett 96 Passer rating in the 4th. Trailing with less than 4 mins to go 149! Fields 52 Passer rating in 4th and trailing with less than 4 mins to go 22! 😂. If Steelers dont have s huge lead going into the 4th it will be a loss with Fields.
