Thanks so much for this Amanda- and I saw your other video as well- I envy you having gone so many times. I first went in 1997b after watching Somewhere in Time... then named my daughter Elise McKenna ,she will be a college graduate soon and STILL has yet to visit the island with me. I also just returned from Mackinac Island and had a lovely time. I took my cousin after a friend who first went had to back out at the last minute and my cousin fell in love with it too -- I can now return basically anytime just finding that right person to go along now is challenging. You have to be able to walk a lot as you say and ride bikes which my cousin and I loved to do both. I am planning on staying at the Grand 2 nights which I have never done yet but we paid the $10 his time to do the grand self guided tour on our own and ate breakfast there this time. it was so worth it. I also had their lunch back in 1997 in the dining room and always had such a wonderful memory of it. SO now I have to go PLAN next spring or again in August or who knows maybe even this October ! My very favorite place EVER- what shocked me was the BLUE water as we arrived in Mackinaw City and seeing the BLUE caribbean WATER COLOR while looking at the Mighty Mac BRIDGE- I could not believe my EYES! I looked at my old pics from 1997 and the water wasn't blue there but it WAS On Mackinac Island looking out at the straits. WOW I didn't remember that. Thank you for your video!! I want to be able t get her to Round Island because I know there are kayak tours if you have enough ppl they said 4 for $600 we ould do it but I only had me and my cousin along.

Good job! That’s how I like to do the island too. Hiking biking and stuffing my face! I could give you a couple tips too, such as going behind the library and sitting in the Adirondack chairs. Looking forward to your October trip! I was there at the same time as you, btw, road opened up the day after I got there
