Thanks Buddy for posting this.I use the Op-1 but sometimes I get a bit confused or stuck.You just helped out quite a bit.Much appreciated.I hit the Sucribe button.Thanks for the help.The Op-1 is a fascinating and unusual instrument/Beat Making tool.I have various pieces of gear but I for some reason like the sound of The Op-1 I have the 1121 Edition the revised version towards the end of its production.Once I completely figure out the O.G Op-1 I will eventually get the Op-1 Field.Great Tutorial.You made things easy to understand.When I go home I'll try playing with long samples and the technique that you demonstrated.I'm not ready for the Field model yet.I'll just figure out what I have for the time being.

best way these days is to sample from the drum kit. get like 20 seconds, it'll auto chop up the sample along the keys into bits at the same tempo, and then you can set one key to have the full sample on it

You could also get a Eurorack with a lot of (stereo) modules to get even more goodness…

Thanks a lot! I hoped to find a way to chop "perfectly" a bit easier. To me as a sample novice its not so easy to be precise with the inpoints. I get lost in a longer sample, even with the clearer visuals on the field.

Great tip! also, had no idea about two of those shortcuts you mentioned, increasing the sample volume or changing the tape mode resolution. that one in particular is super helpful! also, I liked the beat you ended up making, even if it was just a tutorial!
