I know this is late, but I wanted to mention Seafire by Natalie C Parker has: pirates, set on the sea, strong female character, death, found family. It also has great disability representation in my mind, queer representation, and bipoc representation. It's the first book in a trilogy and books two and three are over 400 pages. I really enjoyed this trilogy.

I never got around to reading Reckless, but hope to read it to catch up for the Hopeless chat. I’m curious to hear everyone’s thoughts, and don’t mind being spoiled! 😊
