@@teeroothanh1469 Lanna, Lan Xang, Ayuthaya all are part of the Khmer Empire until they received their independence or rebellion. In 887 King Indravarman 1 on the Northward Conquest he conquered Xishuangbanna annexed them to the Khmer Empire. This is world history from scholar community who research and study history. Xishuangbanna received their Independence in 1181 the same year the 4 years long Khmer Champa War ended. Present day Xishuangbanna are heavily influenced by Burmese before the Burmese it was Lanna before Lanna it was Khmer. I’m from Vietnam and in Vietnam the Tai people still live in primitive tribal life in Northern Vietnam near the Chinese and Lao border. They don’t have their own written language

Khmers are not an ethnic Dai because you are black. You guys are probably from Southern Indonesia.😅

Khmer,Viet and Taiwan we an Austroasiatic people we are originally dark skin people but not all of us are dark mostly due to admixture with Chinese. There are an ethic Tai Dam in Northern Vietnam they are still tribal. The Tai culture in Xishuangbanna was first influenced by the Khmer from 877-1180 and the current culture are heavily influenced by the Burmese sadly Xishuangbanna are now part of China and everyday there are many Han Chinese migrated there I hope the Tai don’t lose their culture to the Han

They probably saw Siamese thai people wore it and just imitated it without knowing history. Siamese took most of the gold the head dress from khmer/Malay art

@@kakhcambo1432 LMAO, khmer received head dress (and many customs) from Thailand when they had been vassal state of Siam empire after the fall of Angkor. Thai head dress inspired from persian head dress it developed in Ayutthaya period

Majority of the modern Ahoms are actually Morans, Chutiyas etc, who got absorbed into the Ahom kingdom & identity themselves as Ahom. Only 9000 Tai men and few women arrived in Assam, & majority of Ahom are not descendants of those 9000 men. DNA test of Ahom population proves that they have high HbE frequency, which is a trait of native mongoloid population of Assam. Whereas Tai population in the East Asian countries have almost no HbE frequency. And if you want proof then check the answer of Himprabal Singha on Quora, he replied to the question (Are Ahoms Assamese?) there he have showed the proof. There he have showed the Haplogroup frequency of the natives of Assam. HbE means Haplogroup by the way.

Do you know the Tai Ahom, and other Tai people of Assam and Northeast are the same Dai people which shown in the video.

I think there were immigrations back and forth between Yunnan and Indochina. Hence Indian influence found its way to Yunnan, China, via Indochina. After all Dai mainly distributed in Yunnan which is very geographically close to Indochina. While Kam and Zhuang don't display any Indian influence in their cultures, I guess they preserved more original Kra-dai features.

​@@jackjackyphantom8854to be honest , Tai-Ahom religious and cultural tradition is evolved from Taoism and have less Buddhist influences compared to other tais. We have more similarities with Zhuang and Tai-Dam culture which are relatively free from Buddhist influences.

@@synclarva8695 I don't think Tai-Kadai and Taoism have anything to do with each other, if anything that'd probably be external influence from Chinese culture. As Taoism was gradually evolved from ancient Chinese folk religion. I think Tai people were probably animist in the past. After all, animism is a very ancient religion. Ancient Tai people were probably linked to proto Austronesian. I tend to find many similarities between Taiwanese Aboriginals and ethnic minorities in Yunnan. Moreover, Taoism does have significant influence from Buddhism and ancient Indian religion. Indian influence was strong in Asia especially through the spread of religion.

@@jackjackyphantom8854 @jackjackyphantom8854 hmm, but we do have lots of traditional beliefs like octagonal structure (similar to Taoism we call it Ka Chang Seng Mi Pyet Chinese call it Bagua) , Concept of Yin ang Yang (We call it Han and Phu) , Dragon (Ngi ngao Kham in our language) and even some scholars stated Ahom god Lao Khri as Lao Tzu, and the Calendar system is also very similar to Chinese Vietnamese calendar with Ganzhi (Sexagenary cycle) (Lak Ni Tao Si Nga in Tai-Ahom Language). Probably due to cultural isolation from other Tai people we have lots of ancient Tai cultural tradition that other Tai Groups have lost due to Theravada Buddhism influences. In case of Buddhism Tai-Ahom Buddhist influences are mostly Mahayana Instead of Theravada Buddhism.

Unfortunately our roots are forced to learn/read Chinese ! Our native languages only exist in Thai/lao/hmong
