SES AI was founded in 2012 by Dr. Qichao Hu in MIT’s basement, with the goal of developing next-generation Li-Metal technology, which has the potential to revolutionize electric vehicles through advanced chemistry that allows much more power in much lighter and smaller batteries, potentially doubling the range of electric vehicles.
Today SES is backed by leading global automakers including General Motors, Hyundai, and Honda. SES is headquartered in Boston and runs two engineering and development facilities in Shanghai and Seoul. The Company is listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: SES).

Battery World needs the same attention of Tesla Battery Day! I know SES will change the world because they follow true principles to make the Apollo Battery. Battery transportation check list that's important to us all: * Safe to use and abuse (Puncture, Burn, ...) * Scalable to make GWhs today (cheap available resources for Millions of vehicles) * Easy module/pack assemblies (large cell format 100Ah) * Wide temperature operating range (works in freezing -30*C to hot 40*C temperature, low range losses) * Similar charge rate to refueling time (needs faster chargers) * High energy/volume densities for long range (400+ miles or 650km) * 80% capacity retention lifespan of 300 cycles (250,000 mile pack lifespan) * (New) AI Battery Monitor System (BMS) for safe operation and extend life * Sustainable to Reuse and recycle battery resources into new use Amazing verified development since I started observing SolidEnergy Systems (SES) in 2017 with only the Hermes battery platform. They have been super transparent about their battery data from the beginning with impressive energy and volume density. I'm magnetized by the deliverable attitude of their CEO Dr. Qichao Hu. His focus on real data drives remarkable innovations. I'm really glad huge investments has finally met SES to start scaling up fast! Great to see many leaders supporting SES!
