Clean pass but cars are too heavy these days. 730hp for basically a consistent 11 second car would motivate me gut that car. Spare tire, carpet, air bags speakers, back seats, ac condenser and pump would all be on ebay tomorrow. Any money I earned afterwards would go into lightening rotational mass. Removing the side view mirrors not only removes weight but reduces a significant amount of drag and you can always remount them if you daily drive the car.

I hadn’t even thought of the factory bushings in the knuckle/hub assembly… This seems like a much more thorough and legit install for the non-adjustable trailing arms. I simply installed mine with the bushings that came on the trailing arms only, and figured I’d call it a day; guess it can be improved even more! Either way, I’m more of a track driver, not much on drag racing; so I’m not super afraid of wheel hop. I’m more afraid of body roll and whatnot, so I have a multi-point chassis brace on the under carriage.

Did you prime the engine oil cooler with oil, by cranking the engine over with the fuel pump/injectors disabled? That’s what I did, by removing the fuses for the fuel injectors; as I didn’t find a specific fuse for the fuel pump. Seems like it worked as intended anyways. I wasn’t sure if the “clear flood” method, by flooring the throttle pedal when turning the ignition to ON, and then it self-disabling fueling while priming the engine with oil; would work. Some people simply hold the starter and then let off the throttle fully, until the engine cranks over. I was paranoid about wear and tear with the new oil cooler lines being dry. I did fill the oil cooler with a bit of oil, but I’m sure that wasn’t the biggest worry..

I’m running an AGM-114 thermostatic adapter from Improved Racing, with a 200 F t-stat. I basically ran a 25-row oil cooler, the same exact way Mishimoto set theirs up, for the 5th gen Camaro SS. I bought a universal mounting bracket for the oil cooler, and used the existing threaded holes on the upper radiator support, right in front by the hood latch. No support for the bottom, but I used blue loc-tite, and I can try using flex joints if I need to try tightening or checking the bolts; this can be done with the cutout where the hood latch is installed. I wrapped my oil cooler lines in titanium heat wrap and it prevents chafing and heat soak pretty well. I also made sure to use teflon tape on the oil cooler fittings, and Viton o-rings where they were recommended or needed to be. Hasn’t leaked any oil in over 20k miles! I don’t really like the sandwich plate adapters, but if that’s your preference for some folks, then the Mishimoto oil cooler kit for the 5th gen Camaro V8 also uses one; and it comes with the exact threaded adapter you’ll need (so you won’t have to go and source one). It’s a bit expensive, so I took the list of parts from Mishimoto, when I went to build my own DIY kit. My engine oil pressure is good, and engine oil temps usually only go as high as ~205 F on really hot days, and it stays around ~200 F with the t-stat oil cooler adapter, which is perfect for my street car setup. I’m on stock suspension, and I run the bigger version of the oil filter (AC Delco P/N: PF63); which I thought would mess with oil pressure, but hasn’t. Clearance isn’t an issue with the longer oil filter sitting an inch lower, luckily…
