Excellent video. I love the fact that this place has gone on to thrive and grow, and have enjoyed a day there with my children many years ago (and hope to go again). I also love the fact that it is run as an educational charity. BUT why do all of the later videos on this channel have comments turned off? RUclips is a fantastic place for conversations in the comments, where threads form on topics that can produce all sorts of useful information. I also question that statement in the video that the place is 'all about trams'. No, it's also about being British, and preserving the memory of the British way of life - people working at a job they love, helping each other in a common cause and showing commitment and goodwill. And it's about preserving real skills. It's also a great place for children to both enjoy a day out and acquire feeling and understanding for the scientific and industrial past in Britain that created the modern world they live in. The numbers of views and likes and subscribers on the channel are pitifully small for such excellent videos. Please open it all up for comments! Also, add some text in the description, and provide names for the folk involved. As we reach the point where the folk who knew and worked on trams in their heyday will soon all be gone, it's important that youngsters are inspired to learn from them and continue the good work. This place presents such a contrast to the Derby Museum of Making, and Museum and Art Gallery. Derby museums have been transferred to a trust, are staffed by around 50 folk whose qualifications are in art subjects, with not a single scientist or engineer, and since receiving a £20M grant from the Heritage Lottery fund, have gone totally WOKE, eliminating all reference to the achievements of British men like Erasmus Darwin, and his Lunar Society friends, and doing everything possible to delete real history. Do not let that happen to Crich.

It would be difficult for the English too, But ticketsis please a stage play by D H Lawrence, of Lady Chatterley fame. In summary, ‘Tickets, Please’ is a story about a man who works on the trams of Nottingham during the First World War. John Thomas - his very name is slang for the ‘male member’, or penis - is a cock of the walk, a jack the lad, a man who thinks he has it all. Curiously, though, this is 1918 and he’s not ‘at the front’: he’s not fighting in the war. Why? Lawrence doesn’t tell us, but it raises interesting questions. Does this cast a shadow over his ‘manliness’?

I'm so glad that some have managed to get this wonderful museum going. How many fail? I've had many a good day over the years photographing the goings on at Crich. I'm too old now, but I still enjoy the video's/films are made as the museum progresses, Long may it do so.
