Guys, ask your surgeon about “ACL Primary repair” and see if you’re a good candidate. Ive had 2 ACL surgeries 6 years apart and first one was in 2018 using this very same method BTB Patella graft (my knee was never 👎 the same) and a recent one on my other knee last month. It took me more than a year to really go back to sport with the first surgery and about 3 weeks to be full weight bearing (I also had a meniscectomy on my left knee along with the ACLR). Now, with my right knee my new surgeon was able to re attached my ACL back into my femoral bone using sutures and an internal brace. I had a high grade ACL tear which according to my surgeon I had about 10% left of my ACL still attached. 2 days post op I was already on full weight bearing with a slight limp and achieved full ROM 3 weeks later. Now 5 weeks later and im already able to do some jump rope. The difference is night and day. According to my new surgeon, roughly 50% of ACL tears can be repaired instead of going the traditional ACLR route which takes a lot longer to recover from. As long as the tear occurs from the femoral bone it could be repaired and reinforced. And NO, this is not the “BEAR” method. Look up Dr. Difelice on Instagram and youtube and if you’re in Canada 🇨🇦 look for Dr. Abouali which was my orthopaedic surgeon.

I had this surgery done on July 19th of this year as well as a Meniscus repair..the 6 weeks non-weight bearing was such a boring time since I could only do so much at physical therapy and the exercises I was given to do at home..as of today I'm doing good, back to working and getting my strength built back up in my leg as directed by my physical therapist. I've had very minimal pain and some slight soreness this entire journey. Anyone who is nervous about this surgery, don't sweat it. Get the procedure done and go to a reputable physical therapist and you'll do good! I'm glad I got this done after waiting so many years, I should have fixed the ACL the first time I got hurt in 2016..it took tearing my Meniscus this year to get me to fix it lol

I had this in 2020 and one yr ago last week. My surgeon shot himself 6 days later and 2 weeks the sutures and stitches came out 2.My left was perfect. The right one was ruined by the pt dept tech took a 3 inch upper section wasn't ready and I'm damaged for life. It's sad because with my great surgeon gone, no one else cares. I have been depressed ever since because my husband died 2 yrs ago and No one wanted a woman looking as I do. Please if you are planning for this surgery, you know your body. I told the pt guy he was removing the 3 inch section too soon. It's been a yr, it hurts, it itches, and you can't be in the sun because it gets very red. I live on a beach. I only go and walk when there's no one there. I'm heart broken the whole way around. My doctor was 48.

Super scared for this as surgery is my number one fear. My consultation is next week. I tore my labrum so an arthroscopy is the only option to fix it. Anyone have any experience with this? And will the recovery go by fast if I focus on it?

l already have pain in my lower front of the knee, kind of where the patellar tendon starts. l asked my doctor if the pain will become worse over time if I use my patellar graft and he said no. He said initially yes for the first months but should return back to normal. I have surgery next week, i am a soccer player 27 yr but already experience patellar pain. Do you recommend using my patellar tendon graft still? Or hamstring? I am afraid I will re tear it again using hamstring. Please help

I had patella tendinitis surgery 11 months ago. I still struggle with day to day things. I’m starting to think maybe had i went with another graft (hamstring, or cadaver) then i’d be able to return to my regular level of activity. I was a basketball prospect and now i’m no one after my acl injury. I’m really struggling any advice helps.
