I did my first latch hooking in Colombia back in 1976 when visiting a missionary. I then designed and made one for my brother when he graduated high school. After that I went many years without doing any. I got a small kit off Amazon and was thrilled that I could do it even with arthritis in my hands and wrists. I've have lost ther ability to do some other crafts, so I am very happy. I have a couple more small kits I want to do and sew them together and then make art rugs like you were doing.

It was your video that inspired me to have a go at Latch hooking. Now I'm working on a very long rug, well a runner. I'm really enjoying it, I find it very relaxing and therapeutic. Your tutorials are also very therapeutic you have a very soothing voice. I suffer with my nerves and this really helps me.

I have a question about threading with a punch needle ... since it pulls back out so easily, how can it be used for a rug? How do the threads become secure for the final product? Wouldn't a vacuum just pull all the thread out? Thank you.
