I'll admit - I sold it pretty quickly. There were too many moving pieces for me, and every decision point required referring to a different manual to look at a table. Just wasn't for me.

such a fantastic game - and yeah, the setup / breakdown is one of the best selling points - so fast to table!

They are just normal cheap standee stands - the chips clip in pretty nicely - pretty proud of that revelation, haha

yeah..it's not great for sure - there is a good game beneath it though!

Thanks for the feedback - we generally do have footage from the games we talk about, but the top ten list in that specific manner would take a lot more time than we had to devote to it.

@@brandtsanderson4665 only played Last Light of those 3. It was a miss for us, but glad it hit the spot for you! I want to try Age of Innovation. And I'll get Frosthaven eventually... Have a few other campaigns to finish first, and want the book of maps

@@OwlDragonAdventures there's a hero quest app it has all the expansions and it makes it to where u can play as a player instead of being the GM. It's pretty nifty

Great question. Do you have an example of a game you consider to be in the genre you are eyeing? I would consider V&V to be adventure, but you are right, it is dungeon crawl / corridors & Combat. You've got Valor & Villainy: Minions of Mordak, which is the first game in this world - it's a tile exploration 1 v many game.

@@OwlDragonAdventures I was thinking of a game like Runebound or Hexplore-It where you have a map and a figure that you move around and interact with people, markets, monsters, quests, etc. I guess 1 v. many could work. It is more the freedom to wander and do different things that I am looking for,

My apologies - I thought I followed up on this already! I'd recommend Vindication by Orange Nebula, Western Legends, or Xia: Legends of the Drift System

Scott has assured me there is a good a punt base game, but you can get a couple smaller modules pretty cheap, too

The dungeon deck is small by design, adding more cards would mess with the balance of the game. There is another dungeon deck you can buy but you keep it separate from the base game one. The main skill of the game is memorizing the dungeon deck and understanding your chances when you decide which door to go through. It is not like other dungeon crawlers where you draw from a large deck of encounters to see what happens.

@@Ant-gu6vz in games like that, I always write down in shorthand what cards came out each round. That’s how I plan strategy for games that involve automa decks.

Is there such thing as too big? But yes, the slip cover lives on my display shelf OFF the box - so I can just slide the components out at will so I never have to lift it again, haha

It's fun! My biggest suggestion is to just dive into the fray - I think it shines when you don't try to play it reserved or cautious.

I do play computer RPG's as well, but I very much enjoy the tactile feel of a board game as well. It's a different experience. Like I love watching TV shows and movies, but I also love watching live theater.

@@OwlDragonAdventures I play board games because I also like the real world interaction. But when a game has 500 tokens, 200 cards, and over 20 things to keep track of it stops making sense to me. That is when the computer becomes the better tool. But that is just me.

Fair enough! Have a few friends like that, too. Thankfully - Isofarian is actually pretty streamlined. The massive numbers of chips you see are just for the bag building - definitely not many things to keep track of. What's your favorite board game?

It's Scott's favorite of the lineup - at least for solo. Or it's at least neck and neck for his favorite. TMB is still the top contender for multiplayer. I (Rob) still love Burncycle more for both solo and multiplayer, but it's definitely up there.
