What i'm noticing is. Particularly Gamb vs NOASB.. Every year Noasb play Gamb in New Orleans, NOASB get Gamb on the field and Gamb get NOASB in the stands.. And it seems Both bands. When it comes to rivaling each other. I don't know why but they both just can not seem to beat the other in the stands at their home battle. Whenever NOASB play Gamb in New Orleans they lose in the stands. When GAMB play NOASB in the stands in Georgia, they lose to NOASB. This is just my theory, They both get either too cock, or too comfortable and relaxed at home of maybe all of the above at home and lose their stands battle. On another note. My Criticism of New Orleans is. particularly for the gamb stands battle is. They sacrificed balance and beauty for power. That is what cost them the stands battle. They were over blowing too much. The fact of the matter is their band is big enough that they don't have to do all of that. Gamb understood that. Which is why they played more relaxed, and full and still got their point across. IMO NOASB need to mature beyond over blowing, it make the band sound young and immature. There's some songs you can do that, but not every single song. Another thing i noticed is NOASB trombones seem to be too think for their band band at some points. They Need a heavy think Trombone to support the band to give them a fatter and fuller sound. Their trumpets are better this year, however, they get over powered by their mellos, but especially their btones.

NOASB are shooting themselves in the foot, thinking blasting and power is what will win battles. They sounded waaaay better for the MMB battle. They were more balanced and had a better sound. Everybody said they even sounded better than MMB. I don''t know why they moved away from that formual.. they need to learn to play together as a unit for balance and quality, They have to stop trying to out blow, and out shine other sections, and start playing together for balance and quality to compete the other band. Oh.. And They DEFINITELY need a fatter trombone section to fill out and thicken their sound. They're loud but they don't sound full because their Tbones and trumpets gets swallowed by they btone and mellos. The need more trombones Asap.

New Orleans choose rap tunes instead of real good music, they should choose differently. Every one knows Gamb is bringing something regardless! Don't use time as an excuse. It was coming regardless! N.O do what they do and what Gamb does is always more expressive and memorable.

Don't forget NewOrleans in 2023 had a week off before they played GA. And still lose by a close margin.
