    How long do you think that pool sat unused?

    • @cloverpoolcare
      @cloverpoolcare 14 дней назад

      That pool was shut down for about a month or two due to repairs. I kept some chlorine in it, but without the circulation and filtration, it won't stay blue forever.

    So can this valve be completely shut off like shut the flow off to the skimmer and the main drain?

    • @cloverpoolcare
      @cloverpoolcare Месяц назад

      Yes but it depends on how it's plumbed in if it's a 3-way valve, since one side will be left open. The 2-way version is just open or closed.

    How about the handle its self? Rather than the entire valve? Is that a pain?

    • @cloverpoolcare
      @cloverpoolcare 3 месяца назад

      Yes, the handle itself can also be changed. Not very common for me though since most of the valve problems come from the gasket inside. Thanks for watching!

    Hey there! I really enjoyed this pov video. I'm curious about your experience with the 3x17 Hyperpole so far, have you encountered any issues with it? I'm thinking about getting one but haven't made up my mind yet. Thanks for the great content, and keep up the awesome work!

    • @cloverpoolcare
      @cloverpoolcare 4 месяца назад

      Thanks for watching! I've been using the Hyperpole for about 6 months now and I'm still very happy with it. It does get kind of hot in the summer sun and will pinch your fingers once in a while but overall it is superior to the other poles I've used. The only thing that prevents me from being totally on board is that high price tag. Thanks for watching!

      Check the description for a link to the Jack's Magic tile cleaner on Amazon, other than that I use Keen abrasive pads, they are kind of like a scotch brite pad but better in my opinion. Thanks for watching!

      @@cloverpoolcare What was that you unscrewed and put the chlorine puck in, not a prefilter?

    • @cloverpoolcare
      @cloverpoolcare 4 месяца назад

      @allanb52 that is called the chlorinator, it's where the chlorine tablets are supposed to go. The last stop before going back to the pool.

    • @allanb52
      @allanb52 4 месяца назад

      @@cloverpoolcare You are correct, so why would they put the tablets in the skimmer, it will block the flow and when it shrinks block the return pipe.

    My ph and alkaline are 0 how much do i need how do you calculate

    • @cloverpoolcare
      @cloverpoolcare 5 месяцев назад

      You first need to find out how many gallons of water your pool is. there are lots of free pool calculators online that will get you really close depending on your shape and depth. 1.5 lbs. of Sodium Bicarbonate ( baking soda ) per 10,000 gallons of water will raise alkalinity by about 10ppm. Thanks For Watching!

    Do you add chlorine after adding baking soda ?

    • @cloverpoolcare
      @cloverpoolcare 6 месяцев назад

      Yes, in general, it's usually best practice to adjust the pH and alkalinity before anything else.

  • @mwinchesterjr6862
    @mwinchesterjr6862 6 месяцев назад

    good video. I have a question. well two really. I have Jandy Valves, but mine also have a turny knob on the side. what is that for and how does it work? Second question. One is leaking. I started to sum of the parts was great then a new valve. should I just by a new one and take off the parts I need?

    • @cloverpoolcare
      @cloverpoolcare 6 месяцев назад

      That is a great question! The grease cap on the side eliminates the need to disassemble the valve for lubrication. Not sure which part of your valve is leaking, if it's just the o rings then it's fixable, if the plastic is damaged then replace the whole valve. Thanks for watching!

    Why would you put in new filters and not clean the 30lbs of sediment stitting at the the bottom of the tank!? 😂 Once the tank is pressurized all that sediment will clog up the new filters 🙄

    • @cloverpoolcare
      @cloverpoolcare 9 месяцев назад

      Thanks for watching! Yes, you are correct, always clean out the sediment. I actually just tried to clean the filters about a month ago but they were beyond cleaning so we suggested new filters. The sediment was cleaned out at that time so not much of anything in there when the filters were changed. I will try to be more thorough in my explanations, thanks for the feedback!
