Just a heads up. I opened a bank account at Banistmo as a tourist with $100 no problem. I then bank transfered $40000 at a later date. All I needed was an address which I used the Airbnb address.

do you need residency to get the drivers license?

In one of the Facebook groups I’m in, I saw an article that there is an exodus of expats leaving Chiriqui area due to an increase in crime. If you are familiar with that, could you discuss what the crime issue is? Thanks.

I just learned that if you are interested in moving to Panama your criminal background check needs to be 100% clean... according to attorneys for Panama immigration.. Is this for sure?? Even misdemeanors?

My husband and I were on the July, 2024, tour and had a wonderful time. Oscar, Megan, Rod and Dilbert were awesome. Every one of our needs were met and they work hard to find the answer if they don’t know it. Our small group (12) made it extra nice as we got to know everyone well. We have made friends for life! The places we stayed at, visited, people and Expats we met were all nice and informative. This is the tour company everyone considering a move to Panama should take. They will stay with you thru the thick and the thin. We have watched a lot of RUclips videos from other companies in Panama and this is the one we learned the most from. I took the tour in June 2024. The organization and support was beyond my expectations. I cannot imagine collecting this much information or accessing these resources in a more efficient way. A bargain for the price. It was fun, too. 🙂

Wife and I were on June 2024 tour. Everything Oscar and Megan say in the video is correct. The tour is TRULY all inclusive. Lodging, food, transportation, meeting other expats, introduction to medical insurance providers as well as legal professionals. The apprehension we had about relocating to Panama was alleviated after the wonderful time we spent with the tour.

Can't say enough about this tour and the three great people who put it together! Professional, all encompassing, comfortable and informative! Absolutely fell in love with the diversity of the land and the people! Can't wait to get back This November and live for three months and continue our tour of such a beautiful place! Keep up the good work guys!

We were on their July 2024 tour and I have to say it was a blast!!! My wife and I are NOT large tour group people so the small number of guests on the Retire in Panama Tours was perfect for us. Also by keeping the group small if gives everyone on the tour an opportunity for some one on one time with the tour operators, Oscar, Rod, Megan, & Dilbert to ask general questions or even personal questions that apply to your specific situations. We spent over six months researching different tour operations, looking at different social media outlets, and watching a ton of RUclips videos. We watched their monthly Q&A sessions and asked lots of questions and took lots of notes. We reached out to them and took advantage of their free 30 minute phone call to ask more specific questions. When we finally decided on a tour, it was hands down Retire in Panama Tours. We actually started worked with the lawyers they recommended back in January of 2024 on our Residency Visas. We arrived in Panama a week early, meet with the lawyers and signed our visa paperwork. By the time the tour started we had our Residency Visas. (Disclaimer: The entire process took several months of communications back and forth with the lawyers before we arrived in Panama.) Everything step of the process with the lawyers was easy and they were there to assist us with every step. One of the things we really liked about the tour itself was the never ending knowledge that Oscar has about the country, the people, the customs/culture, the history and the list goes on and on. During our two weeks in Panama we made many new friends, Panamanians, other tour guests, Oscar, Rod, Megan, Dilbert and enjoyed our time with all of them and it really makes us can't wait to get back to see them again. I went on the tour in March 2024 and really appreciated the hard work that went on behind the scenes. As a sightseeing tour alone, it was very well organized and we stayed at great places, and had great food, which served a double purpose of a relaxed tour and learning about the locales and food sources, and costs, across Panama. More importantly they all “know a guy.” We were shown different housing options at different prices and locales with explanations of what options (living, shopping, daily routine) at each location. We met real estate agents, a lawyer to explain the residency requirements, and people who have lived in the different areas and were very willing to answer any questions about actually living there day to day. The small groups helped with camaraderie and represented a broad cross section of people, backgrounds, and income levels. We had people from the US and Canada, and I was in the middle because although American, I have lived overseas since 1997 and Japan since 2002. Great people during and after and they are helping me with my retirement move in October.

Hi, lise here , I took the 7 days Tours last week of June 24,. Rainy season.! Well organized, on time good hotel great resto, and Mr Pena was full of attention .umbrella as needed. Really enjoying at the same time as investigating very different area. Really useful tour .Do not miss it... Regards to everyone of the group!!!

My husband and I took the tour in October of 2023. During this time the people decided to protest against a Mining Company relating to unfair contracts. This caused our tour to be completely different than what was expected. From our perspective, The Retire in Panama company was able to meet this challenging time without difficulty. Rod, Oscar, and Magen strategically maneuvered throw this political event remaining professional but also showing genuine kindness. They are filled with knowledge about Panama. They kept us informed DAILY of ALL the changes that had to be made during our tour because of the protesting. Our group learned a lot about Panama's politics that week, but we still was able to see some sites in Panama as well as meet other friendly expats and local people living there, we had a good time. People love having a GOOD time; But people REMEMBER challenging events MORE! This support team was wonderful! This "hiccup" in our tour did NOT deter us from going BACK to Panama and becoming residents our this beautiful country. BOOK a TOUR!

I met you guys in the Airport Parking lot when arrived for my tour with another group (in 2021). I have kept my eyes and ears open for any content that you have. Maybe put out more videos of people that have taken your tours and their experience. Interview the people that stayed, or came back and their experience long term. It does make a difference when you keep your face out there in RUclips or FB. I hope to come back to Panama in 2025, and might do another tour since a tour seems to cover so much more than what anyone can do on your own, plus everything is included. Do you have your own FB group? Or recommend a specific one?

If you are even remotely interested in seeing the country of Panama you should book this tour! As 40-somethings we found it to be the perfect blend of fact gathering and fun. Oscar, Megan, and Rod were generous with their time, expertise, and quite literally their homes. That extended to all the locals and expats we interacted with along the way as well. We truly got an authentic experience and feel fortunate to have been able to share it with a small group of like-minded people. We miss all the amazing fresh fruit and seafood that was so readily available everywhere. You won't ever be left feeling hungry on this trip! My only caution would be to those who have mobility issues. Accessibility is lacking - sidewalks in Panama City are largely uneven and nearly non-existent elsewhere. Same for designated crosswalks. It wasn't an issue for my husband and I but may be for others.

Tour Feb 2024. Thanks to these guys had help opening a bank account (more complicated than one would think) and have my first residency card. Came back for nearly 3 weeks and took 2 weeks of Spanish classes. My teacher was very surprised at how smoothly my residency process was going thanks to the help and contacts from the tour.

Best tour ever….an unforgettable experience! See the country, learn and have fun with everything looked after. Follow up support continues after the tour. Moved here in 2023 and count Rod, Meagan and Oscar as friends. Worth every penny!!

My husband and I did the tour in Jan of 2023 and absolutely loved it. Oscar, Megan and Rod are fantastic and a wealth of information. We went back again for a 2nd visit on our own to check out the area that we liked from when we did the tour and we were hooked up with professionals that we needed to answer any and all of our questions that we had. We took the tour in February 2024. The tour is only a small part of what you receive. The support from the team, Oscar Rod and Megan are amazing. They are available all the time to answer questions and help from relocation to acquiring health care, your Visa to live in Panama to your driver's license. We loved Panama and are moving as soon as we sell our homes and look after personal business. We are excited to meet everyone there again. It is hands down the best tour in the country. I joined the June 2024 Tour and highly recommend Retire in Panama Tours! There’s no way I could have explored all the communities and met so many expats on my own. The hotels we stayed in were very nice and the food was outstanding! Oscar, Megan, and Rod are incredibly knowledgeable. My tour was not only informative but also a lot of fun!

We had the pleasure of going on the tour in Feb2024 and had a great time. From pickup at the airport to returning to Panama City we felt like family. We definitely will retire in Panama , the question is where we will end up. Great people,great tour and a ton of knowledge from these people. Do yourself a favour and give them a try.
