I love Morgana in Wizards in a way, I know due to the time of the video that Wizards probably wasn't released, but it does a really good job of fleshing out the character and making them human, I like the part where she is manipulated by the Arcane Order and used as this tool to make trolls win and to fight for the victory of the trolls and to oppose and despise Merlin at every turn, that being her goal in a way because she was manipulated into believing it and her anger at Merlin and Arthur being used by the Arcane Order to vilify everything about Merlin and his Trollhunters, that being her motivation because Merlin basically took everything from her, her left hand in the amulet and she would more likely blame it on Merlin than her own brother and thus being the reason why she did all she did.

Okay hear me out. While I know Disney is too creatively bankrupt for this, it'd be interesting I think. When you have Frollo going on about his disgust for the Roma have them be portrayed as all the stereotypes so the viewer sees through Frollo's eyes , but when the heroes interact with the Roma they're properly represented as the should be .Plus keeping some of the more "problematic" stuff would keep the story true to the time period of history in which the story takes place. While yes representation is important, we tend to go too far in trying to see everything through a modern lens and it breaks the immersion of the initial intentions of the work. But I'm just a random guy on the internet not a Hollywood elite so what do I know about storytelling and what not.

I get what you're saying, but tbh it doesn't make the animation lesser for it, it's not an accurate depiction of medieval Europe either. The movie is character driven, the slapstick does more damage to the quality than representation. You also should remember that the disney movie is heavily based on the 1939 movie, which A. is not an accurate representation either and B. was meant as a protest to fascism, so it inherits those problems (contradiction between representation and message).

I understand why you think "Not Ready to be a Princess" is Sofia's 'I want' song, but to be perfectly honest, I actually think her true 'I want' song is "I Belong" because throughout most of the series, Sofia is trying to prove to everyone that she can still be a good princess, and the princess test is the solution to prove to everyone that she does belong with the royals, even if she messes up at times. Yes, she did want her life to go back to normal in "Once Upon a Princess," but this want didn't really last long because she was finally getting used to being a royal, and that happened after "Once Upon a Princess." I feel like "I Belong" is Sofia's true 'I want' song because proving to everyone that she can be a good princess is Sofia's main goal for most of the show, and like I said, she felt like taking the princess test was the way to show that she could do it, but throughout most of the series, she learns there are more ways to be a good princess. The same thing happens in "Elena of Avalor" too, because what I said about "I Belong" reminds me of what you said about "Ready to Rule," because Elena is trying to prove to everyone that she can be a great ruler of Avalor, and that's her main goal for most of the series. Elena wants to be a good queen, but she had to face a ton of obstacles to learn her lessons, and she got what she wanted at the end of the show because she worked hard to earn it for three seasons. "I Belong" was the real song that made me root for Sofia to be a good princess, and "Ready to Rule" was the song that made me root for Elena to be a good ruler, so I get the feeling that they're the same song. Are you beginning to understand why I think "I Belong" is the real 'I want' song of "Sofia the First?"
