Actually it’s disgusting that an f1 driver would ask for that kind of money & for an f1 team to pay a driver that kind of money is disgusting. I really like Charles Leclerc. I really like Carlos Sainz & I wish they would have kept him. Charles or Carlos definitely could have won the title for Ferrari. The narrative for Toto has changed so Merc are desperate to prove they released the right driver by offering him what effectively was a 1 year contract. If Lewis fell for the trick and didn't find an option at Frrrari or elsewhere Merc would have succeeded in setting him up for failure then exercising their option not to extend after a year. To all the people who only want to point out Russell’s stats when it favors him, I just have one thing to say. Will Russell finish 3rd or hire this year? So let’s say Russell finishes ahead of Lewis this season. Will he finish top 3 like Lewis did last year? In 22 George finished 4th and wasn’t “best of the rest” (Max/RB then Charles/Ferrari, Checo). Last season Lewis finished 3rd and was BOR (Max/Checo/RB Lewis). When Lewis beats George, he beats the rest of the field. George finishes ahead, only cares about finishing ahead of Lewis. Who looks the better driver to the money machines that fund Merc F1. Guess what, he’s going to Ferrari next year.

Its possible that others are catching up as well .. in reality r.b have only dominated for 1 season 2023 , in 2022 Ferrari just botteled strategy and reliability . No team is unstoppable! But it is nice to see them struggle i must say.

Thank god Im not the only one thinking like this. Max's reign simce 2021 is the most divided of all time. F1 could not ignore the negativity and eventual disinterest in the F1. Feels like .the drop off is artificial but it is hard to know for sure. Is F1 trying to win the fans ans gain more fans by suddenly artificially gagging RB dominance???
