Superb band and always at there best live…far better than the so called super group … u2… the alarms songs far outplay anything they mullets wrote… mike peters and the band wrote quality lyrics… 1st 4 albums different class.. in there heydays the best live act along with big country… no doubt about that… a band of the people who know music….
Well said!!!
The Alarm gave one of their best ever concerts at UCLA, California back in '86... I think it was transmitted live on MTV.. still have the whole broadcast on a VHS.
This free concert was suppose to be about 5,000 at most; everyone was caught off guard when the crowd swelled up to 35,000! This unforgettable moment made the local news and was later celebrated for the massive crowds good behavior.
They were always very conscious of the fan's behavior, one night, I got trampled by the idiots at a Motley Crue concert, two nights later, Mike was telling the crowd "Settle down and give each other some space, we'll play all night if you guys are nice to each other!" Crowd settled down, and they played almost three and a half hours!
What about that ending though, where Dave just improvises on his strat... Brilliant 😄...
Dave Sharp was on fire at that free concert... actually all the band were!!
The Alarm and The Church were always the best alternative to U2! ❤
Should have more views
I remember my brother saying once that The Alarm were to play a show at Aberystwyth University, where he was a student at the time. But disaster struck when they realised that all their guitars had been pinched. But a local guitar shop stepped in & loaned them guitars to play the show. Nice story I thought :)
You can where U2 got their sound from
They went in a time capsule five years in the future to check out strength ?
One of the best songs, EVER!!!
i was at this show and it was fucking amazing!!!!!! Still one of my favorite all time bands man I love these guys....
Was this a free show for the students. I was at UC Davis at the time and they had smaller concerts in the Quad..lots of punk bands for the Bay.
No i think we paid but i honestly don’t remember. UCLA did have free concerts once in a while though. The crowd was really into these guys.
My father
Bowie's cover of God only knows is in this group of love songs

Such a great band and great song. Thanks so much for posting.
I like the studio recording as the brass goes really well in the background
Who tries to rush the stage on "Walk Forever By My Side?"...lol
The best most underrated band ever
Maybe. Maybe not but a great band anyway.
Based on time period, lyrics and melody - this should have sooooo many more views/likes. Everything about this song is SOOO Goood - Cheers!
Definitely... I never understood how this song didn't get huge. In a weird way it kind of makes it feel more like my own.
The ultimate "twin flame" song.

Great band, great show, great performance from Mike Peters and keyboardist Mark Taylor. I think Eddie, Nigel and Dave enjoyed their break. : )
