Seems to still be in his pastiche phase, copying Dylan and Van Ronk and Prine, just like Dylan copied Guthrie and others. Hopefully he discovers his own sound soon. I also dont think these protests songs will work removed from the actual physical communities that fostered them. Hopefully hes playing live and people are going to his shows, thats real community and thats whete change happens. Til then, he'll just be stacking views.

I can.t top listening to Jesse's songs. I'm a 70 year old, ,and have loved music from my far away youth to this very day. I have seen countless live bands including the massive shows by the Dead, Floyd, Crazy Horse, Small shows in bars, and fields, punk rock clubs , and music is life to me. None of them impress me as much as Welles. He is just beautiful and amazing I think he is probably smarter than me. His voice is one that is unforgettable, an astonishing set of skills, His WHISTLE !
