2021 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport Review | 10 Things I Love about my Toyota Tacoma
My first oil change with the ‘new to me’ 2020 sport was shocking. I went with the dealership interval they gave me upon purchase and damn the oil was nasty. It’s still under warranty so I’m assuming it was a 10k change. Won’t happen again thankfully
Your vehicle you go where & when you want! ENJOY ❤😊
@@erickim2025 We need more people like you thanks 🙌🏽
What’s the torque pressure after installing the spacers on the nuts? Does anybody know?
The owner's manual will give you the criteria for oil changes... For 3rd Gen Tacoma, it was "probably 10k miles, UNLESS: dusty roads, short trips, car top carrier, towing, heavy loads... Those would count as "severe service", and dropped OCI to 5k miles, or 6 months, whichever came first. I'm in the 5k camp, because severe service. The 10k OCI is for best case scenario use. You turbo guys probably can't tolerate old, worn oil, anyhow.
It looks like it’s lose in place. I can see maybe rattling and vibrating and that can cause some paint chipping and scratching which can lead to rust after rains. Once it fits snug I am in and for that reason I am out. Lol
@@BigOHavingFun Big shark Tank guy?
@ lol. Good Catch man. I ended up buying the McGard tailgate lock on Amazon for like $33 that one appeared to fit snug
I do every 7K miles
Change the name of the video to "How to hack up your truck until the bigger tires fit".

Thanks. I have a 2019 sr5. Been looking for a good mount for those rough rides. 🪶🇸🇴
@@keithgeiger706 yea it’s pretty good but if your going wild it might fall off
Will it work on a 2 WD ??
@@Billy-USA I don’t see why it wouldn’t check with the website to be sure
Every 3000 miles I don’t care what the manual says that is a sales ploy to sell more product every 3000 miles.
Can someone confirm this rad takes 2.45 gallons (9.3L) of coolant to fill?
Does it do a full turn ? No rub at full turn ?
@@malikharb7159 nope did a video on that too
Any signs of mpg drop so far ?

Do you need different gearing or update the speedometer with 20 inch rims?
@@bradmarshall7075 all depends on the tires but i didn’t. I have 33s of you go up to 35 gearing helps but isn’t required
I bought one and can still take off my tail gate this product dose not work
I change my oil myself and filter every 5000 km 2012 v6
10k is perfectly fine. I've done that with my tacoma for 5 years, no issues. Oil companies would say 5k because they want your money. An extensive study was performed on NYC taxis where a group was changed every 5 and the other 10k. Engines pulled apart, wear and tear inspected with with very precise tools. Result: No difference found, but hey it's your money.
Nicce job !!! How many cans did you use
@@gagrg76 I think it comes in a 6 pack i’ve since used the gallons and a sprayer
They only say 10k because they include a few free oil changes when you buy a new car. But I would use an oil analysis company to determine how often to charge oil. Blackstone is one, but there are many others. You can even get a tool to remove an oil sample without draining the engine.
I change mine every 5 thousand miles , rotate tires and put a bottle of gumout of engine cleaner when I go to the pump, every 5thousand miles
How do you track the mileage to do it every 5k? I don’t see how I can program it just so I get a reminder to change it.
That’s called lunar rock grey
@@williedavis3976 umm no it’s not lol
The first time I did my wife’s at the recommended 10K there was so much sludge I decided as cheap as it is to do an oil change that it was going to be 5K from now on.
How do you track the mileage to do it every 5k. I don’t see how I can program it just so I get a reminder to change it.
I bought a 19 tacoma trd pro back in 2019 new, oil changes every 10k miles , now odometer at 130k with no issues. All that 5k service is all bs. It's all synthetic no need to ppl spend all that e x tra $
Good to know, not the typical response
@@Dhess I also have a 2016 4runner that I bought new aswell with 160k miles now, same routine as far as oil changes go with no issues

Ill just use a metal hose clamp
Will they survive car washes??
@@251Trioxin i don’t go through anything that touches the truck with the spinners but touchless washes that pressure wash and go around the truck are good
Is a front end alignment needed after this? Curious.
@@scottusa03 I did. It won’t be too off bc it’s not a big lift so if u need a few days before u can get in to align your fine
Initial change at 1,000 second today at 5,000. I'll let the stealership change it at 10,000. No one waits for 10,000 if they plan on keeping the truck long-term.
I have a 13 wrx and just picked up the Cobb intake and ap tuner. I was contemplating a catted dp, but now I’m second guessing it. I daily mine and drive 80 miles 5 x a week. Maybe I need to stick to just suspension mods.
@@scratch1200s yup lol it’s expensive to make power with these cars and from my experience they don’t take it well
@@Dhess my first car that I wrenched on was a 99 civic si. That thing took to mods like a champ. Ran it for years with no issues.
You know what works good get some sanding sponges from home depo and when the sponge starts to wear out wrap a piece of sand paper around it I’m going to have to do mine soon waiting for it to cool down like around Sept I live in Baltimore county so it sucks we have to deal with the East cost weather I have a 2018 TRD Sport

It's so easy to do it yourself!
Have a video for the rear?
@@danj7112 I don’t have a rear lift
I just bought a 2023 TRD Off Road about 10-11 months ago that only had 4 miles on it. I did my first oil change at 1k miles (break-in) & just did my 2nd one a couple days ago at 3.5k miles. Next one will be at 7.5.k miles then I will do it every 5k miles. I do not trust the 10k mile oil intervals
What offset ?
-44 no spacers
5K or every 6 months
My 09 Tacoma I changed between 3k to 5k convention oil.
If it’s synthetic and you are not running crazy compression (or a turbo/ supercharger) 10k plus all day. You are literally throwing clean synth away if you are doing it more often. Especially if you aren’t driving it hard. Synthetic is a whole other beast than old school oil.
