I have taken a few photos here with my motorbikes with the windmill in the background, never thought of flying my drone here. Obviously it is ok to fly a drone here ? Very nice video
Been on the Waverley many times over the years, truly Amazing trips and hopefully it will continue for many years to come. Great drone flying. I am always worried about flying over water 🤣

Great Scottish ship,I remember her from 40yrs ago! Nothing like the smell of the engine room. Recommend this experience to anybody.Such a joy,cherished boyhood memory.

Did it crash the drone?
No it didn't. I've had a few seagulls come close but, fingers crossed, they never seem to strike. I think they feel intimidated and just try to scare it off

Are all these piers much longer
Southend Pier is 1.3miles long and the longest pleasure pier in the world. It was built that long so that boats could still access it at low tide. The tide here goes out about 1 mile.
That's amazing. How has it lasted so long. You are blessed to have things like that where you live. Here in Arizona nothing is more old than a couple hundred years. Thanks for sharing and God bless.
Sorry Kent, I only just saw your reply. Don't know how I missed it. Yes we are blessed to have some amazing heritage in the UK. I worked in London for 34 years and saw many historic buildings on a daily basis so I just learned to take them for granted and I know I shouldn't. Take care and God Bless x

I've just recently got a MIni2. Noticed the restrictions around the airport and wondered if i need permission to fly and what process to go through? Thanks, liked the video.
Hi Richard, DJI firmware wont allow your Mini2 to take off in airport restricted zones. You can get permission from Southend ATC and then use that permission to get an unlock code from DJI but there is a fair bit of paperwork and you have to convince them that the flight details you submit will not endanger any aircraft. I got permission to fly over the pier, Kursall and adventure island during lockdown when they were closed and was limited to no higher than 150ft.
@@dronezoneessex5551 I received a code the very first time I took off. But you need permission EVERY time you launch in a restricted area

@@richardhewitt7097 Yes because every flight is unique. You have to provide the precise date and time in advance and then if the weather is no good you can't fly anyway! Most of the time the paperwork and effort is not worth it.
@@dronezoneessex5551 What I'm saying is DJI make it seem like you are getting permission to fly when all you are doing is unlocking a zone set by DJI. Nothing more.

Yeah Acker Bilk, stranger on the shore, very appropriate for lock down :) This was filmed in 1080p with the Bebop2. I got a Mavic Mini so I could go to 2.7K. Would have liked to go to the Mavic Pro 2 but couldn't afford it.

@@davidkai2694 Its a great little drone. Exceptionally stable and responsive and super quality video . Bebop still better for flight plan. DJI drones will not even allow you to take off in a restricted zone so swings & roundabouts :).
@@dronezoneessex5551 Will it be OK to fly at shoeburyness and 2 tree island with the dji or will that be restricted
@@davidkai2694 It will let me fly at both locations with a warning but if you fly into the red zone the drone will force land. Get the Drone Assist app and the UAV forecast app on your phone and you can see the zones.
Hi enjoyed watching this I have a anafi drone never have flown it worried about rules and I seen another guy on the here fly from shoeburyness East beach too.... I have got a parrot bebob 2 /parrot anafi and dji mavic air never been flown would like to
