    Hey! I took my Storm Bee to the Karting track with some 17" wheels, grippy tires and noticed the shock would pump under acceleration with any amount of lean + bumps. At 2:00 you mention the shock doesn't have a ton of damping... do you think this possibly why i'm getting this pumping action? I'm about 220-240 with my gear on. Awesome videos btw!

    Would you suggest changing the stock KKE forks to the Honda CRF forks for a casual hard enduro rider? mostly slow technical terrain. thanks for your great videos.

    I'm doing the fork spring thing on the 47mm Storm bee to attempt balancing what the rear end needs against the , umm , soggy front ... Do you happen to have measured the fork spring and solved the rather mechanical top out clunk issue . ( want to order the spring asap without disabling the bike for too long , you know , lazy ...)

      You can use the forks springs from any Showa 47mm fork. However you need to make a spacer to use these springs. I still have some available if you need them. Forks should not have a top out clunk as they have rebound springs to cushion the top out. The only other possibility is your cartridge ran itself out of oil and there's no resistance or damping left to control rebound.

    What would you do for a spring rate for a 295/315 pound rider

  • @paulmarlow7176
    @paulmarlow7176 Год назад

    I did this 9 months ago with CRF super Moto mags as you say it's relatively straightforward. With a big disk conversion if you remove the front disk guard bracket you need an additional 3mm on the spacer length. I've got a 320mm disk on mine.

      Yes, Showa 47mm with a spacer. I have spacers available yet.

    Good stuff Jake! Probably dropped some nice weight.The stock steel sprocket alone is an anchor. I forget which year but Honda did space the sprocket out 3mm. If you do a spacer kit I will buy two sets from you.

    Thanks for the information. If i want to run a 320mm front brake disc then i can buy one what is capable with the CRF, but what about the brake caliper? Is that a direct bolt on also? So if i want to move the factory front brake caliper outside to fit the 320mm rotor, a CRF caliper mount will work? Thanks in advance :)

      I've got a 320mm on mine but I have supermoto mag wheels with Adelin caliper. With that caliper it fouls Sur-ron SM wheels I'm not sure about a 21" as that wasn't in my plan !

    Any advice for new oil? Mine is leaking from the sealing/bushing, I will replace both the sealing and oil.

    I'm 175 -- do you think the stock fork is good for that or should I think about replacing it? I feel like the sag is supposed to be set up for my weight, but not sure. I am prob more like 180 with gear on.

    • @JCMotorsportsLLC
      @JCMotorsportsLLC Год назад

      Most riders are 18-20lbs more with full gear compared to regular clothes. stock fork springs are soft in the first 4 inches of stroke and progressively get stiffer as you compress. Great for trail riding in a non aggressive way. Once pushed at a higher riding level the front feels vague and will push and tuck with stock setup.

    do you have any videos on how to set up the sag correctly on the stock suspension for different weights. i have been looking all over the internet for a guide on sag for this, and mine is still stock and not sure how to get this correct for my weight.
