Borderlands - Movie Review | Is It THAT Bad?
Great commentary, hyped for this DCU under James Gunn
We are too! Thanks for watching!
It was interesting to get to see Alan Tudyk play Clayface in a totally different way to how he does in the Harley Quinn show
First video I’ve seen from you guys and really like the vibe you guys have and most movies you had on your lists I agreed. I hope 2025 brings big growth for your channel and I would love to collaborate on a review or spoiler talk if you guys are ever interested in that. Peace ✌🏾
How are you doing today and how your day? I seen the series and I like the first two episodes. The third was ok but it went off the railroad track after the third episodes. I litterly went to sleep.
SONIC 3 IS SO PEAK AND PERFECT
How are you doing today and how your day? I enjoyed this movie a lot. This franchise gotten better than some trilogies. I am not much of a Sonic fan, but I will give credit where credit is due. I used to play Sonic when my cousin had Sega Gensis and it was a fun game. Although, I am more of a Mario fan. The fact they have Shadow like John Wick was simply amazing.
How are you doing today and how your day? I did not see the movie because I was not sure about it. So I just rather watch your review to see if it worth going to watch it. Since the Rock has played in a ton of movies, do you think his still Blockbuster or Bombbuster?
In the entire history of cinema, the worst sequel ever filmed.
Not when Son of the Mask exists.
Joker 2
The only innocent character in the show was Gia. She just wanted cake 😔
Just a sweet child with a MESSED UP family...
I think a catwoman/sofia series would be good. it can flesh both character more then they can be developed in a film. plus, more Cristin Milioti. a returning kingpin penguin would be a good foil and give us more penguin without diluting the character we know. a straight villain
The dynamic between the two of them would be really fun to explore!
I like that Spartan statue. I'm going to try to find one. Looks awesome!
I would like to see the Rock play a villain. He needs to take more risks. He tries to stay a baby face, but he needs to get some dirt on him. He is too clean. Good review.
Yeah, it felt like he took more risks as an actor earlier on in his career. He's gotta go back to that because what he's doing now is stale.
@@thebodaciousrant441 I agree.
I enjoyed some of the world building and action, but I found it too cliche and littered with tropes that it became very predictable and boring to me. Chris Evans stole the show though and J.K Simmons as Santa was very amusing. Great review!
Thanks for watching! And definitely agree with all your points, some cool playing with mythology that just gets bogged down by the generic superhero stuff they added in.
I too rate this at a 5/5. One of the better shows this year in television. Colin Ferrel has to win an Emmy out of this. My goodness. He ate this role up.
Yup, hopefully the show gets some love when the Emmy's role through!
Great beginning, fun middle, bad campy lame end
Good review. Thanks.
Thank you for watching!
I guess you guys just didn't really understand this movie (and maybe not even the first). It's a popular fan theory that the first movie all played out in Arthur's head and that seems pretty logical. It all started in the office of the social worker and ended there. It was all a big fantasy of Arthur's. And the sequel kinda proved that point. Arthur was in an asylum with nutjobs and all everyone ever did was look and focus on Arthur. Lol, because it all played out in his head. In his mind he's the superstar and the constant center of attention.. And you know, when the movie is basically a plot made up by a psychopath.. this is what you get. A crazy musical movie with stuff that doesn't add up. Trying to make sense of it, is the cause of not understanding it. How many crimes and motives of psychopaths and mass murderers make sense to regular folks? 💅🏻
It's a fun theory, and one we've heard before. There's been plenty of movies with an unreliable narrator (i.e. Memento, Fight Club, Shutter Island) and pull it off well, and they do here to a certain extent in showing Arthur's narcissism and escapism as a coping mechanism, but unfortunately that doesn't forgive the other issues that we had with the movie in terms of its pacing, lackluster musical sections, and juggling so many ideas that not all of them have a satisfying conclusion or conclusion at all. That's not to say everyone is going to have the same issues we did, and if people love the movie then that's great! Ultimately I don't find either of these movies all that deep or hard to understand, it's just this one was a bit dull where the first was at least engaging. - Bern
@@thebodaciousrant441 Everyone's entitled to their own opinion 🩷 thanks for sharing yours
Of course! Again, there are a lot of elements I really liked about the movie, it just didn't quite come all the way together for me.
2:24 Michael Wincott
A return to form? Have you SEEN any of the Alien movies? This movie was a cheap rip-off of scenes and dialog done worse then the movies they stole them from. Turning the "Get away from her you B*TCH" line into a comedic line is evidence of that. The "new" Xeno-sapien was abhorrent, and these filmakers clearly have no idea how physics or software updates actually work. Last, the entire movie was miscast ... in EVERY other Alien movie the cast were ADULTS. It is completely unbelieveable that a gaggle of 20 somethings would have their own spaceship and be able to fly the damn thing. Especially in the world they set up in the first 10 minutes. The fact that this story is supposed to happen between Alien and Aliens make even less sense. I could keep going but I think I made my point ... That being you have no clue what you are talking about. Your audio is horrid btw.
Top 10?? Give me another good movie from this year let alone 9 more.. lol
🎉🎉🎉
GoT was definitely a story spanning multiple kingdoms within the Seven Kingdoms / HotD just feels stifled by being situated on two tiny islands (Dragonstone, Driftmark) for so much of its storytelling. In my watch I think Allicent goaded Aegon into battle by belittling him ... after he diminished her - and that is an odd but captivating issue I got bored with Daemon's scenes. Visions are not interesting - that his change of mind came from a vision is a big let down that doesn't really justify what we see from character alone
Glad you guys dug this one! I think there are a lot of killer moments in here when it comes to the action and comedy, but the story the film is centered around is shallower than a kiddie pool. I did really enjoy this Deadpool and Wolverine team-up from an entertainment standpoint though. Great review!
Yeah, the pure entertainment factor was definitely there! Story and character moments left a little to be desired, but man was it so much fun.
A lot of storylines were eh. Mallary died. Weak death. She was stupid. Ftenchie story was a waste. Leading up to the endeavor
Yeah, a lot of the plot lines for the secondary characters weren't nearly as interesting as last season.
I agree with you both on the characters. They were all over the place and so was the tone. The fight sequences did it for me. This show is on the lower end of the spectrum for me in terms of my favorite. I’d prob put this below book of boba fett lol. But it’s crazy close 😂
Yeah for me it falls in that mid tier along with Kenobi and Mando S3. The fight scenes really do give it that edge haha - Bern
Barely saw this on max, I know I’m late to the party lol. So I’m with the critics on this one. I enjoyed the second 1 more than this one. It was too childish for me. I personally didn’t like Stephen’s character either..
Pretty solid list.
Love this show. Prudes won't too mist swearing. Best acting around among everything else 😊
Absolutely, the acting in the series has always been top-notch!
Good lists! It has been a good year for films so far I think, I have watched 173 (wide) released films in 2024 so far. My top 5 actually just changed today but here is what I have. 1. Ghostlight 2. Late Night with the Devil 3. The Roundup: Punishment 4. Dune: Part Two 5. Daddio Finishing out my top 10 is 6. Hundreds of Beavers 7. Jim Henson Idea Man 8. Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter One 9. The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare 10. Civil War.
Great list! Ghostlight is one I definitely need to check out. - Bern
Spoiler Alert on this comment! But I’m glad they didn’t go in that direction of like an alien origin story where the aliens were the sole focus, which has been done already with others. This one focused on another’s perspective. This movie had me on the edge of the seat, LITERALLY. Lol
Absolutely! As horror franchises go on they seem to fall into the trap of over explaining the backstory of the creatures. I feel like they've already given enough for these monsters for people to speculate and discuss, so it's good they didn't drive it into the ground and instead left a little bit to mystery. - Bern
Honestly, what did you enjoy about it? I thought it was a complete snore. The first third was okay despite being a by-the-numbers, Scorcese style ripoff but it was alright but then it just loses all momentum and the remainder just drags on. A lot of scenes felt like filler that didn't advance the plot (what little plot there was) and the supposed love story had absolutely zero chemistry. Like, yeah, they are together but I couldn't tell you one reason why. In my theatre, some people started talking or playing on their phones while others just got up and left. I was certain I sat there for 3 hours but was shocked to leave and find it was less than two. Obviously taste is subjective but I really don't get what people enjoyed about this movie. It was so boring.
This movie is amazing. I think it is cursed to be a fan/cult favorite like Dread 2012. I have seen it twice and I can't wait to buy it for my collection.
Dope movie! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Mel needs to reprise his role as the real Max. Mad Max End Of The Road.
lmao this is more of a sequel than a prequel? What is this review.
Bait used to be believable
You are absolutely wrong. This is a different movie and a different kind of movie than Fury Road but I’m no way a lesser movie. I’ll go so far as to say that this is one of the best movies I’ve ever seen in my whole life and that all the other MM movies become better by this one existing. Y’all sound to me like dumb people trying to sound smart.

I enjoyed 'In a Violent Nature,' but the pace needed to be tightened up a bit. The movie is 95min long; could have easily trimmed 15-20min off the runtime (5 from final scene and at least 10 out of all the walking scenes). Other than that, it has a lot going for it; the kills, the effects, the killer, the lore and the camera work are all very good. I really hope it gets a sequel.
This movie was amazing. Definitely way better than JWick4, Dune 2, Top Gun:M etc
It was Epic!
Loved thee movie, hopefully George makes more
the movie feels very crammed. while the action is great, and a lot of the movie was pretty good, it needed to slow about the point she tells them to go to bulletfarm instead of gas town. than we could slow down the pace to allow people to catch up and develop an emotional attachment with furiosa(ie furiosa realizing the green place is gone in fury road). We could have her at the citadel learning how to use her robot arm and talking about her past or something I don't know but the audience just doesn't get personal with the main character very well except feeling bad for her cuz her mom n sh$#. the whole time it's rush to the next thing. We wanna sit down and focus on Anya Taylor-joy and let her get some more dialogue ffs
There are times where it does feel like her character progression happens offscreen. I would liked to have seen more of what happened after joining Jack and learning to become a war rig driver and less of her as a kid where she doesn't get to do much. - Bern
@@thebodaciousrant441 I guess they have to keep the movie to a certain length, otherwise it could turn into a 3 hour movie, not that I would complain. If it was 4 hours I would be ok with that
I personally disagree. I know enough and I wanna just jump into the action. Anything slower wouldve killed the pace when I already felt it was close to slowing down.
Seeing what happened to her does tell a story, but it felt one dimensional. And her relationship with her mentor felt completely contrived. And the one thing I cant get over is her never mentioning her sister in fury road...and then we're told the one who greeted her was her sister? But she's not the one to ask what happened to their mother? Weird.
Furiosa has been getting so much hate online and it's so easy to tell they haven't even seen the picture with the same generic vague criticisms. Virtually everyone that has seen it loves it because it's freaking amazing!
Thank you for this comment, I've basically been seeing only hate and it just hasn't been computing, cuz Furiosa is a certified banger imo
Can't imagine how people can hate on it, because at the end of the day it's a well made movie.
I LOVED this movie! I want more!!
While I agree with you guys that Hiroyuki Sanada, Anna Sawai and Cosmo Jarvis were exceptional, I think there were so many exceptional performances: Fumi Nikaido as Ochiba, Tadanobu Asano as Yabushige, Takeshi Kurokawa as his nephew Ohno, Yuka Kouri as Kiku, and not the least Moeka Hoshi as the adorable Fuji - she stole every scene she was in. How great isn't it that when they pour this much time and money into getting every minute detail right, the end result turns out to be this outstanding. Five out of five for sure.
Absolutely, they were all incredible! One of the best ensembles in a TV drama for my money. - Bern
A nice mix of humor and horror when the kidnappers find the tables turned.
I wish I would have loved this one. There’s been a lot of hype and high scores but, I wasn’t a big fan of the time loop jumps and for me at least the music was over powering the dialogue at points. Great that you both enjoyed it.
That's fair! I didn't mind the nonlinear storytelling, but I did also have issues with some of the ways the music was mixed. - Bern
The best show shogun.
I loved the buckets of blood, comedy, call backs to ready or not and Alisha Weir did an excellent job.
Apologies for the technical difficulties. Our recording program was giving us issues the whole day, and we tried to get it in the best state we could. Thank you for watching!
I really loved the visuals and sound. The war action was great as well. I wasn’t big on the characters though.
