Very good explanation. Only comment is you cannot use x as the area marker and the horizontal axis as x at the same time. That makes your f(x)dx nonsensical. Thanks all the same.

I needed to use some properties of Bessel functions but unfortunately wasn't able to find it in this book. I had to write an amplitude modulated complex exponential as a bessel function. Besides that the book looks good

No need to multiply both denominators and you didn't fully simplify your final answer. Multiply top and bottom by 2 on the first fraction to get a common denominator of 4. You then have (2x-8)/4 + (2x+5)/4 = 6. This equals (4x-3)/4 = 6 -> 4x-3 = 24 -> x = 27/4.

I think this depends on if it’s implied there are parentheses because if there are then this would be 4^720 but if it isn’t implied then you are correct and it is 4.

It’s the other way around. When you have a power stack like that so to speak the default is going top to bottom, unless parenthesis are added. In other words, x^y^z is x^(y^z) unless parenthesis are used to specify it as (x^y)^z
