I cannot explain to you… how much I enjoyed this, Hort is by far my fav character and the Hophie ship is SO freaking adorable, I feel so bad that he had barely any scenes in the movie! Plus they skipped the entire scene in book 1 chapter 15 when Hort kisses Sophie bc of the Coffin thing and all that. AND the scene in chapter 19 when Sophie steals Hort’s room and he says the stuff about his dad telling him that villains couldn’t love but if He could, he would love Sophie… Just like… COME ON!!! Why did they have to leave out like the best parts of the whole thing? Lol sorry. Anyways, thank you so much for making a video about our AMAZING Hort who deserves more credit. Am I the only one who thought the school for good and evil was gay? I mean. The kiss at the end was either a true loves kiss and that’s how she saved Sophie or her tears saved Sophie. Did u also see the arrow scene where Sophie was trying to get Tedro’s attention.?Sophie kept looking at Tedro’s lips and meanwhile Agatha looked jealous and kept looking away so that she wont have to see such a heartbreaking thing. And also Agatha kept on being Sophie’s friend when she was evil and thought that she could change and she also helped Sophie so much just for her to be happy. (All of this was my opinion, if u hate, then don’t comment. And if u wanna add more details or scenes then just comment.)

Not so fun fact: They cut two details from the movie involving 1) Beatrix's rabbit Teddy (which Tedros became an animal abuser for, kicking the rabbit every time he saw it) and it was the one to bring the Good school that No Ball invitation because Hester dropped it 2) Sophie's cupid Grimm, adorable little gremlin, he's literally the reason why she discovered that her Nemesis was Agatha I think

Hort × Sophie stuck to their ship source material, although I wish that he filmmakers did a series instead and had a whole episode with Sophie parading Hort as her only suitor because Agatha suggested it.

The second I saw him on screen, I thought, "Yeah, that's going to be my man for Sophie." 😂 He's just so adorable and I love how he loves Sophie.

"They best-friend-zoned SophiexAgatha" Um, you do know they're canonically sisters IN THE BOOKS, right? That's not Netflix's doing. Plus, I think this would've been so much better if it was a show instead of a movie. There was so many important scenes and details left out for time, but simultaneously so much was stuffed into it that it left no room for character complexity or development.

This moment (3:26 - 3:32) is amusing. Harvid: “It’s bloody disgusting.” Joelle: “We should eat them.” Harvid: “Huh?” Hort: “That’s a little too far, Joelle.”

This moment (3:23) is so amusing. The stare Hester and Anadil give to Hort when he declares that Sophie is his. Hort: “She’s mine!” Anadil: “WTF bro?” Hester: “You’re gonna need to back up a little.” Hort: “Or ours. She’s a Never.”

I honestly think Tedros improved character-wise, since he's a bit less egotistical than in the books, more likeable. Hort basically stayed the same. It is a movie and not a series, so a lot had to be left out for time. Since it is a movie, some things are altered for the screen, and character designs are not the same. It happens. At least it was not like the Peter Johnson movies. Rick Riordan wasn't a part of the film process, unlike Soman.

This is a super old fandom for me so when Netflix randomly decided to revive it ofc I had to check it out. Responding to the comments that say (spoiler) Agatha and Sophie are blood related. Urm. When I said I read the book I meant I read one(1) book I don't know what happened in the other books but FROM THIS BOOK AND THIS MOVIE I was getting wlw vibes.
