Skatepark Bash With The FTX Crossbow (FSR Sniper) 4K
Просмотров 1,4 тыс.2 месяца назад
Giving the FTX Crossbow a quick test at the skatepark. I think its the same truck as the FSR Sniper. It may not stand up to the same abuse as an ARRMA or a TRAXXAS but its not bad for the price and parts are pretty cheap. Tougher than I thought it would be and a nice good looking truck but needs a few changes. Steering servo is almost useless. Gear mesh out of the box was far to tight. Motor mo...

Fist Run of the ARRMA GORGON. It is the kit version so had to build it first :) Very easy build with simple instructions if you need them. Filmed on GoPro Hero 9 Black in 4K. (yup its getting old now)
Arrma Fury Mega 550 2wd First Run 4K

Arrma Fury Mega 550 First Run. Straight out of the box using a Spektrum 3300mah NiMH battery. The battery and charger is not included with this (The Green One) Truck. I have added a fan over the motor and a couple of spring spacers on the shocks. I found the tyres do rub the body on full suspension squish.

Rlaarlo Omni Terminator @ The Beach

Gave the Rlaarlo Omni Terminator a quick blast on the beach. Fitted a set of paddle tyres but I don't think the little fella liked them very much(kicked one off to make a point). Truck is still standard from the box. Only issues I have had so far, A leaking center diff (straight from the box) and I don't like the gyro(fiddly to set up) just my opinion. :)
Rlaarlo Omni Terminator 1st Run

First run straight from the box of the Rlaarlo Omni Terminator. It appears to be a tough little truck, I only bent one of the bolts holding on a wheel on the wheelie bar. The run time is not great with the standard size battery but just carry extra batterie's. As for the gyro, I think it's a pain in the rear. The DumboRC radio gear would have been a better option as the gyro is much more simple...
Hobbywing Max10 G2 140A Capacitor Replacment on the Arrma Vendetta

Replacing blown capacitors on the max10 G2 140A ESC from my Arrma Vendetta. Not sure how it got hot enough to blow the capacitor's. Usually cuts out long before it gets that hot. Its worth a try to replace them and see if it all survives. Not a neat repair but they are stuck in there :)

Upgrading My Arrma Vorteks From a 4x2 Boost to a 4x4 4s Beastie
Hey how strong it is? Arms shock towers? Big jumps 👌
Tougher than I thought it would be. Arms are maybe too strong in the wrong place. I think it's always going to fail at the hinge pin. Although they didn't fail with the jumps. Nothing else broken except maybe damaged the steering but was still doing the job. Steering servo is garbage and I over heated the motor after 2 packs on flat gravel and road. I think a little under powered but a cool truck for the money and the parts are cheap.
That's very close to the setup that I want to do and I will be using 2s because that's what I have. So I was wondering what kind of run time do you get on what size mAh battery
The battery brand was GoldBat. I think it's a pretty cheap budget brand. The capacity states 6200mah 80c. It lasted approximately 20 to 30 minutes. I can't remember exactly but it seemed like a fairly good runtime. The battery is not new, about 2 years ish. Thanks for watching and have fun.
@GadgetFreekRC thank you man
👍
@GadgetFreekRC I have 5200 mah so should be pretty good time
Yeah should be ok.
Thank you for making this video!
Glad it was helpful!
Nice vid👍🏻Did you experience any body rubbing against wheels in sharp turns?
Yes it was rubbing both sides. I put the spring spacers on, it helped a little bit but not much.
it should be survive with a flex bumper
Would need to be a big bumper, it's a pretty wide truck. 🙂
Overall do you think it's a durable car? I don't blame the car for that but it's still kind of looks fragile maybe not so much at basher? By the way you're driving was fine accidents happen
Compared to older FTX models it is pretty durable, Compared to ARRMA or TRAXXAS maybe not so much but any car will break if you keep launching it off of big ramps. I didn't launch it too hard and tried too keep it wheels down and was surprised nothing really broke. As for the broken suspension arm in this case I took my eye off the car and oops. The suspension arms in my opinion seem pointlessly strong and have no flex, Always going to break at the hinge pin. It seems like a decent car for the price with a few flaws (steering servo being number 1) but anything can be upgraded and thats half the fun.
100% awesome! Looks like it runs great too
Thanks. Its not running bad for a 20 year old RC. I had to run it a little rich. Was a hot day and I didn't cut vent holes in the body (looked too good to ruin it with holes).
Train on driving and get to know your moves in a park.. nice effort though ;)
Ok thanks!
Its see your videos
Wow 5 minutes of running up a tree and flipping and crashing
Forgot to mention the awsome cinematography ;)
Nice bash, some crazy craahes 😝
Yeah and the truck lasted pretty good for an FTX.
Nice bash spot 👌
Yeah. It was nice of someone to leave those piles of stone. 🙂
I need to open my diff up on the ak917 to see whats in there .
I think the 917 and the 787 use the same diff. It has 4 bevel gears and some oil 🙂. I think I read on rlaarlo site 20000cst. Don't know about the 917 but the 787 has different oil front and rear. Maybe 20k front and 10k rear 🤔
Looks like you fixed it so you say thicker oil for the front diff thinner in the back. I always hear heavy for the back diff for speed racing.
Yes swapping the diff's (slightly heavier oil in the front) worked for me on that surface. It was low grip and cold weather. I did read on the rlaarlo site the front diff has higher viscosity than the rear. Mine out of the box was hard to control under acceleration even in a straight line. Much better after swapping the diff's around. As for speed running there is not much steering needed so I would think a pretty heavy oil front rear and center for maximum drive to all wheels. I am no expert at this but I am sure somebody could give you good advice on the best setup. Or just tune the car to whatever suits you and the surface you are driving on. Just have fun with it.
Yeah, don’t do it in a skatepark numpty!
Half the fun it break it so you have to fix it :)
Can you please provide your email address on behalf of SpeedyWheels? We would like to send you a MJX RC car to review. Thanks!
That tree stump that you keep driving over you can shave it down to make it into a ramp. 👍
Great idea and a good spot for a ramp but redesigning a tree in the forest with a chainsaw in the UK will probably come with a free holiday 👮 🔗 😲 haha
cool video
Thanks. It's a miracle there was any video to edit. Most of the time the camera was looking at the ground or trees lol. Having way too much fun with the RC trucks.
awesome shots man! my tip is put some hot glue over the wheelnuts and connect them to the wheel. my AM-D12 has been losing wheelnuts a lot since 3s. Now im just putting hotglue on them and it works a treat. Easily removed as well.
Good solid idea and I do have a portable glue gun. In this case I think I was the loose nut and didn't tighten them up properly. But we will see. :)
$279 last day for it on sale
That's a great price, but here in the UK it's still about £369.99 ish. At the moment I think that's about $470. I do think here in the UK we are getting ripped off a little bit lol.
Are your rear and front diff cups wearing out ?
This little RC car is all right. Rear differential outdrive cups are wearing fast though.
I haven't had much free time to give it a proper beating but as soon as I do I will keep an eye on those out drive cups. Only issues I have had was a leaking center diff on arrival and I am not a huge fan of the gyro setup.
Very nice truck... That place would be best for the MK-07 Large scale crawler🙂
That MK-07 doe's look good for the price tag and there is a great spot at the bottom of that hill with a wide stream. Could be nice with that crawler. 🙂
Love this, really want one of these
Yes it is a fun and tough little truck.
@@GadgetFreekRC defo looking at one,
How much did you spend on all the upgrades?
Hi, so approx prices in UK Pounds. Front diff £36 (now £56). Motor mount £30. Steel spur & slipper £85. Motor and ESC I think was about £100 or £125. So parts that are currently fitted to the truck £276 ish. The truck was £180 so a little over £450 Not including the radio gear or the parts fitted on the journey. A new BLX is currently about £370.
the sad part is, the 3s blx will do about 55mph on 3s out of the box. I made the mistake of getting the 4x2 boost and regretted it after seeing what the 3s blx does stock. Live and learn I guess....
True. If you buy the 4x2 boost just to upgrade then it's not financially worth it. As the prices have risen here in the UK it's probably more expensive to upgrade than buy the BLX. But then it is more fun to upgrade 🙂. I think mine does have more speed in it on 4s if it keeps the front wheels on the ground lol.
It says 60 on the box with included pinion gear
My esc just stopped working. Wont power on. Could this be the issue? Afterwords I noticed that a pebble/rock was lodged between spur and pinion. So maybe over stressed and something burned. Any thoughts?
Hi. I am honestly no expert on this but to my understanding the capacitors are there for protection. The ESC probably will still work without them so in your case it's probably not that. Probably just toasted it. Look on the bright side, it's a good excuse to fit more power 😜
The Heck you doin 150 mph in a 30 zone bro.😅😅!!!
Haha I'd love to hit 150 but these roads ain't going to let me and it wasn't me ociffer 😉😁
@@GadgetFreekRC 💥🤣 you out here hauling the mail.
Nice maiden! 78mph is haulin'! 🏎💨 Not much room for error, but you got it.
Hey thanks. I got the kerb as well lol. Run 2 is also up, same setup just a new battery.
@@GadgetFreekRC Nice!
Some nice pulls bro! Adjust your suspension so she doesn't scrape when you brake, make sure the punch is set low. 78 is very respectable tho I know you can get more 👍
Hey thanks for the tips. There is a second run vid up if you want to check it out. Things got a bit worse haha. The rear suspension is wound up as hard as possible, front was kept low but the roads I used are not great. I will pull the front up for next time and see what happens from there.
I have a vortex or mini kraton on 4s she's ill he'll yeah
Yeah that 4s does give it a bit of a kick.
I've got my vorteks on 4s as well! It's wild!
Yes it is wild. I did think about going to 6s but 4s is enough fun without ripping the tyres off.
