DEVIL'S CANYON: THE TOWN FORGOTTEN BY HISTORY
I found your channel this morning and want to thank you for sharing your videos!
The Equipment is call a slip scoop and would be pulled by a mule when properly hooked up.
Military outpost mayby?
For what I could see, the conduit work was well done. Have put some of the local lights in years ago.
That item you called a wheelbarrow is not a wheelbarrow it's called a slusher bucket and it would tie a horse onto that ring in the middle of that loop that pivots over the center and it was two poles one of each side of the back and the horse would pull it and a guy directing the bucket would either pivot it up or pivot it down to dig out ditches or basements or whatever a little bit at a time with one horse
Gotta agree with everybody else. Do NOT go in that mine! Far too many ways things could go wrong!
Great video! At first I thought that someone was rebuilding the house, but it does look like someone is stripping it down, unfortunately. Also couldn't help but notice Jackie's hat from Libby Drug. I grew up in Libby.
I’ll have to share this with her! Happy to have caught you in the vast RUclips wild..Small world… Thank you for the kind words and happy to share.. That old place is amazing, might have to revisit and see if more is removed and check out the quarry in the winter! Thank you👍👍👋
found it
Very interesting. Thank you for showing this!
Happy to share, Thanks for dropping in!👋👋👍
What a gorgeous place to live!!!!
So cool!
With the yellow railings...it probably operated until the 80s at least.
Good point, looks semi-recent especially the control room! Thanks for dropping in Johnny, hope todays going well for ya👍👋👋
@MountainWestProductions I figured OSHA was created in 71'...so 🤷♂️
@ I have never considered this..Really good point, actually puts a lot in context and ties together different things as well…🤔 Nice observation. Don’t think of them much😬😬
Where is it???
They were cooking something, all of the insulated pipes were for steam or hot liquids, I looked at purchasing a paperboard corrugating plant which made the wavy paper for the center of brown corrugated boxes - the steam pipes all look like the pictured pipes.
If there was a lumber mill or two not too far away, that would settle the question. I was wondering what the platforms along the tracks were for, but then realized those boilers needed fuel and lots of it.
@@alka9613 At first I thought ore roasting and processing - cinnabar? however I do not see any ball mills for crushing the ore. Copper ore is processed by crushing and then floating the good off using aeration.
Awesome job with the drone!
Thank you👋
Great video 😊
Happy to share with ya, Thank you!👍👍👋
very cool find! and it's refreshing to see an abandoned site like this that hasn't been destroyed by thieves and graffiti artists. thank you for documenting and sharing your explorations
I agree, thank you for the kind words and dropping in. Appreciate it, hope todays treating you well.. Happy to share!👋👋
SO YOU NEVER SAID ANYTHING THAT YOU FOUND OUT WHAT THE HECK THIS PLACE WAS OR WHAT IT WAS SUPPOSED TO MAKE
YOU'RE PROBABLY SHARING THE BUILDING WITH SOMEBODY SCRAPPING OUT THE COPPER OR ANYTHING ELSE OF VALUE
Why are you yelling?
Good ol'e Popcorn Sutton.
He was likely sitting on that beautiful porch, weighing his gold.. Thanks for dropping in, nice to hear from ya👋👋👍
The flooring scraps is the type of wild gaudy floral patterns that linoleum came in during the 1920s and 1930s.
It is, that strange pattern is pretty nostalgic in a way. Love that old weathered look.. Thank you👋
The stoves are for wood or coal not propane or natural gas - natural gas was not available in big cities until the 1930s and some more rural areas still don't have it almost 100 years later.
Plywood-OSB plant?
This would make a lot of sense here, a lot of high pressure/mechanical work.. Is fire/oven machinery needed for OSB production? Thanks for tuning in👍👍👋
@MountainWestProductions yes, cures the glue. There should have been some of whatever raw material the were processing left in the conveyor going into the building.
@ Gotcha, yeah didn’t look in there. Was clear on the way up the cat walk. Whole area was spotless except the saw dust or particles of some sort on the ceiling. Interesting, thanks for dropping in! 👋👋👍
A body can sharpen the chain on that saw. Just saying.
@08:07 they are ore shutes to drop material down from the level above you are on the main haul line.
Feel like I’m watching a tour of Axis Chemicals from Batman
haha, interesting take. I like it..Thank you!👍👍👋
Where are you out of
Wow, 1953 Buick Special, they had a straigh/ inline 8 cylinder engine...my father had one when I was a kid.
3hole Buick
Another amazing explore thanks to you and Jackie for taking us along with you.
Thank you❤️
Definitely footsteps
I certain they were, I just don’t think they whoever it was responded. It felt like someone was in there for a little bit before I entered the control room. Probably bedded down and thought nobody would really be in the area. Interesting day, happy to share! Thanks for tuning in👍👋👋
My guess- a copper ore processing plant
I wonder if the plant was used for uranium production
It is in an inclusion zone very well could be as well..🤔 Good thinking, thanks for dropping in, happy to share!👍👍👋
hi! maybe some kind of fertilizer plant? did you notice any odors? another guess.. paper processing related maybe? thanks for another hike! I appreciate you filming for us.
No odor at all, besides weathering decay kind of smell really..Interesting site to see everything left behind and not at least stripped for scrap. Thank you for the kind words happy to share, nice hearing from ya!👋👋👍
Tons of value in scrap there!😮
😬😬😬
Looks like a powerboiler and building to me. Steam drum, feed conveyors, that big manifold of valves and pipes were most like controlling water feed to the boiler. Certainly ar the top that was a boiler drum water level column. Old industrial buildings like that have there own weird transient noises almost always related to pigeons, they get into empty buildings all the time. Wish I had been there with you. 😎🍺☮️🇨🇦
Cool, nice take makes sense. Happy to share, the more the merrier I say! Thanks for coming, along👍👍👋
Great find. Your channel is awesome. I showed my folks some of your videos. They love it too. Thanks for the great content.
Hey thank you for the kind words happy to hear it and my pleasure sharing l. Always an adventure to be had.. Truly awesome viewers like yourself and family make the channel! Happy to hear from you! Thank you
I'd live in this place , rent free , great shelter
actiba el traductor , porfa
I would agree with other commenters that it is not a train station. From all the plumbing, holding tanks, heaters and insulation, my guess would be a chemical processing plant... what chemicals ? Nice explore OBJ, thank you for the share.... you and Jackie take care.... Howdy to all from the Rouge Valley of southern Oregon....
Howdy, howdy happy to share with you. Thanks for dropping in friend. Will do, she say hello. Always smiles when I mention a kind comment.. Thank you, see you on the next one👋👋👍
a Trash Incinerator?
This may be, might make sense. Haven’t seen one but could look into it. Was a strange industrial park, fun explore. Thanks for dropping in and sharing your thoughts/idea.👋👍👍
At 2:39, there should have been a manufacturing tag on the motor. it might have had the date stamped on the tag. It would have helped us with a timeline when this place was operational.
Good point, surprised nothing paperwork wise was around. Really odd area! Thank you for tuning in and sharing!👍👍👋
Nice one again this one me on the edge of my chair when you heard the foot steps...so close to Halloween I thought someone might jump out at you. Thanks for taking us along. Get out and Vote everyone.
Haha yeah short one but fun area interesting and odd site here thought I would show you guys. Thanks for tuning in as always Charles and the voting advice as well. Very important probably the most important and exciting time we will be apart of in a long while. I’m hoping for good fortune and fair and honest results representing the beautiful working American people this time around. and of course as well as our true friends across the sea who we share so much with. I have met many good folk ranging from Europa to Australia and New Zealand even! Thanks buddy👍👍👋
Cool place
Idk.maybe mill for what?they loaded something here..love all this stuff.🤠🥳👣💪
It’s an odd one good walk through! Happy to share with you! Some great work took place there interesting area! Newer abandon with some cool industrial workings and train activity! Thank you👍👍👋
@MountainWestProductions na thank u brother it's really good..bless ya brother 🙏💪💯
Thank you. for the video
You’re welcome, hope today’s treating you well. Nice to hear from you. Thank you!👋👋
What is the governments purpose in demolishing sites like this that are doing no harm 2 what purpose I pause and wonder as if they are going to build anything there or just erase history just a thought
I’m with you, needs to be appreciated and shared with our next generations to come..Teaches us and provides a lot of thoughtful insight appreciating these historic areas. Happy to share, thank you 👋
Greeting from Australia, nice explore indeed, its amazing what is left behind and abandoned maybe toxic because of asbestos PCB.s ect . Lots of these sites are just abandoned because it would cost more to demolish because of the toxicity than what they are worth in scrap, just a thought. Also maybe marked as hazardous because it is not actively maintained so enter at your own risk I guess. Nice to see so intact like it was the day they shut it down one does not find that often unfortunately. Who is the female singer at the end?
It very well maybe, I also just noticed some asbestos looking matter insulating the gate valves in the station. Might be why.. Thanks for the thoughts, nice to hear from you, hope today is treating you well! 👋👋
Sweet.what was this place💪
A few people have mentioned a train station possibly, not exactly sure but it looks to have an industrial purpose.
@MountainWestProductions thank you brother. Tho that building was huge it don't look like no train station 💪🇦🇺💯
@olmansam348 it doesn’t exactly does it, looks like it for sure had a function with the railway but not completely clear what or to what level. There’s a lot of quality work put into it tho, looks good. Just not sure what industry it may belong to. Appreciate ya, thanks for dropping in m8👋👍👍
@MountainWestProductions yeah thank you ..I wonder can you find what this place was.its no train station brother.🙏😉💪🔥
That mine has a lot of loose and no rock-bolts at all. It is obvious that the miners did not seal it properly and probably were very lax with the ceiling safety when working the site. Always have a buddy with you when going underground and always have a breathing apparatus to give you a chance if gas is encountered.
It's not a wheelbarrow it's a tumble bug pulled behind a horse for moving dirt ✌️
