Another great movie from Garfield a real tearjecker at the end Pricilla Lane was great in this too and of course Alan Hale.

Prefer the older movies and I'm surprised that I have never seen this one before.1950! Joan Crawford has put in a lot of hours. Imo this is one of her best. When she was dolled up she looked beautiful.

Who writes these comments?? Bots???? It's 1950, a cleaned up and sanitized version of the Bugsy Siegel story, but not even bold enough to name LAS VEGAS (and attributing it to somewhere in Arizona). Crawford is always fascinating to watch, and the fact she could act and had great technique is value - added - but here, she seems to be playing several different characters who are unrelated to one another: the sacrificing hard-working mother who buys her kid a bike (and that doesn't go well) has no relationship to the hard-bitten businessman's friend model. This movie, as entertaining as it is, is illogical and childish, but that's what sold - and it's not a finger on Flamingo Road. (Nor Daisy Kenyon - IMO her best, and closely followed by by Possessed). Fun, but how much greater could it have been in the hands of, say, Billy Wilder? But then it wouldn't be a Woman's Picture. Fun. Forgettable. Great brief brio from Jacqueline deWit. btw, good print and source. QUITE WATCHABLE.
